"You enter the property though an out-house at the end of a path. There’s no working outside light so, if you arrive late or like to go out on an evening take a torch. When we arrived, the bins were overflowing, and bags of rubbish had been piled up along the path. The outside area doesn’t get cleaned or maintained so, if you like al fresco dining you need a stiff brush and bucket of soapy water to clean away all the rotting fruit, leaves and debris. "Bathrooms and bedrooms great, kitchen not great but adequate, dining room good with plenty of mats for the table, sitting room ok but furniture a bit shabby, utility room good with good quality white goods. Garden not good for children of all ages really, nowhere to kick a ball and so steep we couldn’t let the little ones play at all outside, not that we had the weather to do that anyway!! All in all a good house but could be better. "

"The Old Brewery is im the beautiful medieval market town of Richmond. There are numerous walks in the area, several delightful pubs amd restaurants, and it is a great base for exploring North Yorkshire. The property itself, though, needs some work. The kitchen and dining room are beautiful. The living rooms are extremely comfortable (with the exception of one chair). The bedrooms and bathrooms each have their quirks and drawbacks. "Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Stunning views from the rear of the property. Very clean and had every thing we needed for our stay. Pub just a few minutes walk away with good food. Otherwise quite remote but there are shops a short drive away. Perfect location for a countryside retreat."

"This is a remarkable historic property in the Swaledale valley, with extraordinary views. And yet the cottage has been painstakingly updated inside, with every comfort and amenity attended to. The bed is comfortable; the bath is modern; there's a fantastic wood-stove. And the owners have provided wonderful maps and suggestions for walks in the area. You're just up the hill from the Punch Bowl, a gastro-pub with good food. This is a very special place to stay."

"We enjoyed our stay here, the property has everything you need. The views from the sitting room and bedroom are spectacular, the bed was very comfortable.Nice to have smart tv etc. Drying wet clothes and boots was great in the area provided. Overall it felt clean, but the cleaner really does need to look up as there were lots of cobwebs around the ceilings and the light shade on the stairs was thick with dust. "What a fantastic place to stay , the cottage was perfect , very comfortable and felt just right .had everything we needed for our stay. Bed comfy and clean loved the way you slept downstairs and the views breathtaking. Lots of information and maps so perfect for us . No garden for four legged friend but walks just outside . We did keep our dog on lead due lambs and nesting birds . Fantastic pub 2 minute walk away . Will be going back without a doubt . Perfect for us ."
