"We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay. A well equipped house and the fresh water pool was a delight. The views are lovely. Arie was a great host (don't forget to ask for directions). A great getaway location with easy access (30 mins by car) to Beaches, Porto, Amarante, River Duoro etc. There is much to do in the area: sight seeing, walking, riding bikes, train ride, swimming in the sea and rivers. Everyone we came across was very friendly. We'd love to come back!"

"We had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday here. Beautiful setting and the villa is described accurately. Hosts were helpful and always on hand to provide anything we needed such as extra towels or bedding. The pool is a good size for a family and the grounds are large so plenty of room to play or relax."

"A very nice villa with a beautiful garden.The host was very helpful when we arrived.A car which has low ground clearance may have a problem accessing the property though."

"Lovely spacious villa with plenty of room for 10-12 people, and lots of dining and sitting space inside, and outdoor space. It was very warm during our stay, and as the villa doesn't have air conditioning it did get warm inside. Some more fans would be useful, as opening windows does increase outside noise. "The home is in a beautiful, peaceful location. There are many fruit trees, a pond, a swimming pool, and cute farm animals including baby sheep. Our family enjoyed the home and grounds very much. Francisca was a hospitable and gracious host. She gave us a tour of the grounds upon our arrival and provided provisions for breakfast, including eggs fresh from her chickens. We would return again to this home and recommend it to anyone looking for wonderful scenery. Our kids loved it, too!"

"The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We were 8 adults two children and one small dog in total. While on the ground floor the common area suited the group well, everyone couple/family had its own room and space upstairs. The garden is great and has an awesome view to a small vineyard and corn plantation. As the house is fenced, the dog and the children could freely play without further concerns. "After a few days in Lisbon, we were ready to decompress, and this was just the place to relax. It's in a very small town without many amenities, but there is a great kitchen and supermarket just a few min walk away. The property is immaculate, and very modern. We really appreciated the quiet nights of drinking wine and playing cards, and stretching in the morning with the bright sun and beautiful deck."

"A wonderful and warm welcome and greeting by Leonor. Her English is excellent and made us feel very welcome. Later in the evening, there are a few - possibly homeless people around the street. They do not seem bad though and mind their own business. The Mercator do Balhão is just down the road. Amazing experience and great restaurants on then top level. The lower level has souvenirs and fresh seafood and wine-tasting stations. "

"Great location - Heroismo station literally a minute to the right oppsite the Hotel.Modern hotel with good facilities and helpful attentive staff, lovely comfortable room, great stay.Good local bars and restaurants. My first time in Porto and i am in awe, such a beautiful city but despite the weather i still managed to see many sights and visit 4 cellars and sample the famous Port ( including a visit to The Douro valley).Looking foward to returning to Porto in the near future - with nicer weather and have no hesitation in staying at the Timbre Heroísmo again. MUITO OBRIGADO."

"A very clean hotel and in a good location to a metro station to take you straight into Porto. It is a nice walk into Porto if thats what you enjoy. Plenty of nearby restaurants and there is a food hall within 200metres that is definitely worth a visit. Staff are really friendly and check-in and out were easy. A lovely clean bar area with well priced drinks. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Porto."

Good option for fast travelers

"It was overall a good experience the staff is friendly and helpfull however the bathrooms are extremely small and have no smell extraction system, TV's are old and don't offer any streaming nor pay per view service type. They offer a shuttle to the airport and it's only 2€ per person that's very useful. "
