"Overall we liked the Skotel, the location is fantastic in Tongariro National Park. The facility is old but clean. Request a room facing south looking over the valley, preferably not one facing the parking lot in the back. The staff was friendly. We were disappointed that one of our rooms was very small and not close to the rest of our party. The price was very good."

"Neat tidy and AMAZING staff. Alot to offer entertainment wise. The room we had was a little bit lacking in privacy and was noisy between rooms but would still recommend staying here to anyone looking for a comfortable stay at a good price."

"I booked the king suite because I wanted to use the outdoor soaking tub. It was divine after a long day of travel. The water was very hot. The tubs are not private - you can be seen from the parking lot and the sidewalk on the public street - so I had to use it with my swimsuit on. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The furnishings inside the studio are a bit tired. For example, the couch seems like something you would find at IKEA and is not built for commercial use. There...

"Well situated for Tonariro crossing. Walked to dining spots. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They have gear and cords to rent of you need it. Rooms are a touch small, though they have everything requ."

"We were upgraded from a 2 bedroom to a 5 bedroom (we still only used 2 bedrooms) but had a nice large house with a fireplace. Loved coming in from the snow to a cosy house. "
