Located on SIX ACRES near the very top of a mountain.... at the end of a private road... surrounded by National Forest!

This beautiful vacation spot offers long-range and seemingly endless views from two levels of balconies and it borders the National Forest for miles of hiking trails. With abundant wildlife, a million-dollar kitchen, spacious common living areas, a living room, and plenty of sleeping quarters, this vacation destination is sure to please.

Featuring 5 Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms, this lovely 2-story vacation home accommodates 12 people comfortably with its 2,800 s.f. of living space with lots of balcony, porch, and open deck space.

There is a new 6-person hot tub outside, overlooking the mountains, that is available for an extra $50 cleaning and usage fee. Please let us know when booking if you would like to use this added amenity.

Located near the historic cities of Clayton, GA and Franklin, NC... this setting is perfect for those seeking hiking, fishing, zip lining, rafting, sightseeing,, or just a great setting for family gatherings or reunions.

Short Getaway
Mountain Top Retreat was a beautiful place to stay. We had a wonderful time with our children and their spouses. House was clean, up to date and lots of space. We really enjoyed playing games, eating meals and just relaxing on the screened in porch. The view was amazing!

We really enjoyed the huge kitchen & dining room, in fact, we spent the majority of our time hanging out at the dining room table. The patio was fantastic as well with the fire pit and the hot tub. Highly recommend.

Amazing view cabin
We enjoyed our stay here. The view is so beautiful, day or night. Beds were very comfortable. The fireplace and the cozy kitchen are where we spent most of the time.

The property was beautiful and we loved how private and quiet it was. It was clean and had everything we needed. We didn’t stay that long so we didn’t really cook in the kitchen but I would have loved to cook in that kitchen. If we ever come back to the area we would absolutely love to stay again.

Fall Mountain Trip 2023
What a wonderful and relaxing 5 day trip to the north Georgia mountains. We were 3 couples who spent the time exploring the area, shopping and dining. We ate out at lunch and grilled out and enjoyed the view in the evenings. We enjoyed the large kitchen, the comfortable TV area, hot tub, and of course, the amazing overlook. We took day trips to the Foxfire museum, Black Rock Mountain State Park, Highlands, and 12 Spies Vineyards.

Great location!
Eagle’s Nest is the perfect place to stay with a large group. Massive updated and well-stocked kitchen, beautiful views, and plenty of comfortable beds for 12. Located close to the historic town of Clayton with lots of cool shopping, and close to lots of great trails. My favorite was the Bartrum trail which was recommended by someone at one of the many hiking shops in Clayton, which was fairly easy but beautiful and included 2 waterfalls and trekking along a stream.

Great getaway
My wife, 11 year old daughter, and 9 year old son went for the week and had a blast. Great location with excellent views. Very close to numerous attractions. We ate at the Dillard House several times as it was so close, just down the mountain. We hiked right out of the back yard and had a great time. Owners were on top of things and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.. Would definitely stay here again.

Property was very spacious and had many books and for people to read, play games and just talk. Kitchen had room for several cooks and not bump into each other. But mostly the view!!!

Great Spot - Views, Host, Great Cabin
10 of us spend 3 days enjoying the gorgeous mountain views, the back porch, games, the hot tub, and especially the kitchen. We planned on dining out for most of the trip but the kitchen was spacious we wound up cooking much more than planned. Joe was super responsive with questions and the a lot of care was clearly put into ensuring guests get the most out of the property and the surrounding area. Great choice!

A Piece of Paradise!
What a great place! The pictures do not do it justice in the least. The view is the best we’ve ever seen. Fantastic week at Eagles Nest
The home was amazing with awesome views! The home was spacious and well stocked with the basic essentials. The instructions for the house were clear and precise and communication with the owner was easy and quick. The trip up the mountain was not difficult even with some rain…most of the way up the mountain is paved. We look forward to another stay at Eagles Nest!

My Retirement Dream
with a few "ageing in place" upgrades, this would be my dream home in my dream location. we loved everything. especially the porch and kitchen! Joe and Jenny were very responsive, the gueat guide was very useful, the only thing missing was me not seeing any bears. Can't wait to go back

Wonderful Mountain Stay
Seven of us stayed at this VRBO for a long girls weekend/reunion at the end of May and we had such a wonderful time. The views are beautiful and so incredible in the morning looking down on the clouds in the valley below. The kitchen is absolutely huge and well stocked. The beds are super comfortable. One thing we didn’t realize when booking is that there is no central AC, however with the freestanding AC units in most of the rooms and fans we were completely comfortable all weekend. Although with such beautiful views and mountain breezes we spent much of the weekend on the wonderful screened in porch. Initially I was concerned about the parking situation but the owners recently paved the driveway to the house making parking really easy. A state park is nearby so we enjoyed a little hiking. Thank you Jenny and Joe for sharing your wonderful vacation home with us. It was such a blessing to our group.

Beautiful views with close proximity to Clayton
Beautiful view with close proximity to Block Rock state park and Clayton. There are a lot of hiking trails in the area of which you can find more details at www.alltrails.com Spacious kitchen with granite and new appliances. The cabin is at a higher elevation which has nice cool night time temperatures in the summer. We saw one bear that walked right in front of the porch and many hummingbirds if you refill the feeder (1 part white sugar, 4 parts hot water, mix and let cool. Keep it fresh by replacing every few days).

Had a fantastic time. This is the second time that we have stayed at the property in the last 3 month's so obviously we like it alot. They have a variety of hiking trails in the area which you can lookup on the wesite alltrails. com. The town of Clayton is close by and so is the local Walmart. The property is high on the mountain so you have an excellent view of the valley. Great kitchen with gas stove and all new appliances. Hummingbirds come if you feed them with the supplied feeder (1 part white sugar / 4 parts water/ dissolve in hot water).

Incredible VIEWS and VALUE!
Wow, this was a beautiful stay! The house is amazing with a huge gourmet kitchen – perfect for large gatherings and more family time together. There were lots of separate bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable furnishings, and the view was incredible. Nestled on the top of the mountain and surrounded by the national forest, we had stunning views of all the valley below and even to Black Rock Mountain State Park across the valley. We could not see or hear any neighbors or other houses, so the house was amazingly peaceful and quiet. Great communication with owner. Great value for the size of house and location. All very clean! Our family is already planning a return visit to this great retreat home in May! Highly recommend!!
