"Andrew and Andy could not have been more gracious and hospitable. Friendly and helpful, literally nothing was too much trouble for them. The building is old and with plenty of character, beautiful frescoes ceiling in the rooms, only as it is located right in the centre of town it may be a little noisy in the morning but the rest more than makes up for it and we would definitely go back. Thank you Andrew and Andy!"

After Alice in Wonderland like instructions full of codes and corridors and doors with more codes you arrive in a beautiful salon with comfortable chairs, big windows, piles of books and tons of fresh cakes and cookies and coffee! "The dominant problem was that although it is described as having AC there was almost no air coming from it so it was useless. We had paid in advance for 2 nights. The comfort was so miserable that we left after the first night and forfeited what we had paid."

"We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable. A few things to note, though: - the hotel is a good 15m walk from the walls of Lucca, so you need to plan your days as it’s not easy to pop back during the day, especially in the heat of August. Bike hire is extra - 35 euro a day. - the pool is lovely - comfortable and a lovely space to relax. However, it’s only open from 10am - 7pm which was a shame as it’s not possible...

"Couldn’t have been better. It was such an amazing building in a wonderful central location. The communal lounge was traditionally decorated and so relaxing. The room was large and relaxing with top quality furnishings, super large comfy bed. Bathroom was great with a nice strong shower. Our host was enthusiastic, friendly and very helpful. We took his advice and went to the Puccini theatre performance and museum. We hope to visit again. Lucca is fabulous and not to be missed."
