This dome offers a view of the mountainous forest and is located by the Jacques-Cartier River. Just 30 minutes from the city and a few minutes from many resort attractions, you can easily explore the city and enjoy the outdoors all in the same day! A visit to Village Vacances Valcartier, a rafting trip, or a stroll through Old Quebec will fill your days! In summer, the river is open for swimming and fishing, which will enhance your stay on site.
Enter a small haven of peace. The back of the glass dome allows you to admire the surrounding nature—river, forest, and mountains. You can comfortably enjoy this view both from inside and outside on your personal terrace. You'll appreciate the skylight, which allows sunlight to illuminate the space.
Accommodating 2 people, there is a queen-size bed. Bed linens are provided. A child can also stay as a third guest using the small foldable mattress available on-site (no bedding provided).
To prepare a small meal, you can use the portable BBQ and a propane stove. You must bring your own propane bottle (small 16 oz Coleman-style). Cooking must be done outside, as open flames are prohibited indoors.
For cooking, a propane stove, a portable propane BBQ, cooking equipment (utensils, plates, pots, etc.), and drinking water are provided. You will need to bring your own cooler for food, as there is no refrigerator. We also recommend bringing a flashlight for evening trips.
The dome has minimal electricity thanks to solar power, allowing you to use lights and charge your cell phones (USB port).
Although there is an automatic indoor fireplace, we recommend bringing a pair of sandals or slippers and warm clothes for inside the domes to make your stay more comfortable.
In the sanitary block, you have access to sinks, toilets, and pay showers. To use a pay shower, it costs $1 for 3 minutes of use (only accepts $1 coins). Please remember to bring your towels.
The dome is located on the Vallée Jeunesse site, a non-profit organization that helps young people facing academic or social adaptation challenges. When you rent a dome, chalet, or house, you help finance this organization’s mission: to restore hope to struggling youth, giving them confidence in their abilities and their future! Like a resort, the Vallée site features several other houses and chalets, gathering spaces, access to the Jacques-Cartier River, and canoe rentals for your enjoyment. The river is open for swimming and fishing during the summer.
During the winter season, avoid parking too close to the dome, as your vehicle may become stuck.
