The property contact said the beach is swimable, but it is not, in fact it would be dangerous to swim in this area as the surf is very big. Our every need was met - including kayaking on an awesome lake and hearing the blues at Fresh. The location is about 30 minute car ride outside of town so plan on needing transportation if you want to go into town.
