"This vineyard or Quinta as it's called in the Douro Valley is an excellent place to stay if you're touring this area. We like it's proximity to Pinhao and touring the various nearby vineyards. We enjoyed the dinner and wine tasting offered at Morgadio de Calcada. The friendliness of the hotel staff, specially the owner, Manuel, is greatly appreciated. We also like the company of the dog, Pita, who is always around the yard, welcoming newcomers and bidding us goodbye when we left. A truly unforgettable experience for us. Highly recommended. "

"Our stay here was great. The owner and staff were friendly and very accommodating. Service was good, a little slow at times but understandable since they were short staffed. Buffet breakfast included and very good. Snacks and light meals available throughout the day which was nice since you are far from everything. A la carte dinner which we chose the first night but dinner is served at 8:30pm (which turned out to be closer to 9:30 because of lack of staff). Meal was very good but too late for us. It was nice to be able to choose from their daily menu for an earlier meal. "

"This was an excellent place to stay. Although the menu choices were limited (2 each of starter, main and dessert) we thought that was wholly understandable given the hotel was catering for around 20 - 25 people per day. The food was beautifully cooked. The rooftop pool was a great place to unwind (with the happy hour drinks between 5 and 7pm) before heading to the restaurant. We found the room to be comfortable and clean (and kept that way during our 5 nights there. Initially, we found the access a little challenging (down a small cobbled track for about 500 - 600 metres) and perhaps more precision about getting there would be beneficial."
