"I love the hardwood floors, doors&windows, and creaky stairway to the guestrooms. The rooms are meticulously appointed and each has a walkout to the veranda. This lodge is only 2-3 mins. walking to Gordon's Bay beach! The staff - Manager Sonja and her helpers Cynthia and Kudzai, could not possibly have been sweeter. And dear me!... The home-cooked breakfasts, including eggs, cereals, toast&butter and marmelaides, as well as coffee, tea and fruit juice... make for a perfect way to start the day no matter your plans. I will come again snd again! "

"Beautiful and well maintained property and grounds. The gardens are beautifully planted and a pleasure to walk around. The spa and swimming pool facilities are well appointed; and outdoor lounging and dining areas are great for enjoying the surrounding mountains and fine weather. Stefan’s fine dining restaurant tasting menu was interesting and well executed and staff all knowledgable and friendly. Hope to return! Great spot. "

Let me start by talking about Debbie—she made our stay incredibly pleasant, safe, entertaining, and refreshing. We encountered some issues with our transport services, but Debbie stepped in, sorted everything out, and even offered us a complimentary ride. I reached out to Debbie to arrange a birthday and Valentine’s surprise, and let me tell you—she over delivered! She and her wonderful team, Lucia and Nariea, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and safety. Debbie made it a priority to check in with us every single day. Chocolate Box Guesthouse was far better than we had imagined. From the complimentary breakfast with giant muffins to the free still and sparkling water, high-speed WiFi, laundry services, so many books to read, walk in closet, spacious shower & a slick tub, a beautiful swimming pool, and well-ventilated spaces, AC, the incredible view—it was truly an exceptional experience. If you’re planning to stay at Chocolate Box Guesthouse, let me emphasize this—I cannot stress it enough... Make sure you book the King Protea Presidential Suite! Thank God we did—you won’t regret it! "Katharina is a great hostess, she gave us some wonderful recommendations during our stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean, even a sheet to sleep under, not just a duvet. You could make your own coffee, tea or hot chocolate and there were water bottles in the fridge. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Delicious fresh fruit salad and a large selection of cooked and cold food. We would most certainly stay here again."
