An adventure in the wild off the edge of Vancouver
The VRBO listing left out a lot, like parking for our car on the Port Moody side was included. The address given for the parking is for the business, the parking garage is approached from the street behind it with no label or street number. Links didn't work. If you have booked and are having trouble, wait through the phone message that says they will email you back within a couple of days and they will answer. The four of us enjoyed our night on the forested retreat on the far side of the Burrard Inlet at the remote, boat access only, Cape Carraholly Retreat. The pontoon shuttle was plush with a seating capacity of around eight people. The 10 minute ride each way was really enjoyable. Mendes, our driver was sweet and helpful with our bags. When we arrived, the ATV took us with bags, to and from our cabin. All of the staff were really nice. We hung out a the beach shack which had comfortable seating for two people. We did some hiking. They recommended that we carry bear spray, which we didn't have. Crossing into the US as of 6/29/23, agents from both countries told me it was legal to take over their borders. Four inch memory foam was on two of the beds was too thick and squishy. One of the mattresses was particularly soft. The third bed was hard. With windows open, the train whistles all night across the inlet were loud. The kitchen lacked a lot of items. A great get away, especially if you live in Vancouver, according to the other guests.
