Gorgeously located on the shores of Squamish Harbor in Port Ludlow, this water-view home exudes calm, relaxation, and serene natural beauty in every season. It's a wonderful spot to spend the summer collecting seashells on the beach across the street and winter holidays curled up under a blanket with a view of Puget Sound. The interior living space is full of natural light, with windows throughout the home that frame views of either the ocean or the surrounding evergreen canopy. Come home from a morning on the beach, a kayaking excursion, or an exploration of the Olympic Peninsula to toss the day's clothes in the private washer/dryer and both prepare and eat dinner with an incredible view. Bring your coffee and dessert outside to the deck, and settle in for a good show or a movie in either the loft or the downstairs den.

This water-view home is located on Squamish Harbor in the peaceful community of Port Ludlow, across the street from a set of steps that lead to the beach (please note that the steps are on a pulley/wrench system and they need to be lowered and raised). You'll be two miles down the road from Shine Tidelands State Park, a great place for fishing, harvesting shellfish, birding, kayaking, and walking the beach. The small town of Port Ludlow is six miles north, where you'll find the marina, the Port Ludlow Golf Club, and the Village Market for your convenience. And if you're looking to explore this lovely part of the Olympic Peninsula even further, you'll find the charming Victorian town of Port Townsend only 22 miles north.

Beautiful View
This house was perfect for us and our visiting family from North Dakota. The view is spectacular. The house is big and had enough space for all. The house is a little outdated but was very clean. Yard is huge. There was a pickleball/basketball court that the family loved.

Great house and location, but it needs some TLC
The door code given to me didn't work so we had to stand out in the ugly, rain and call Vacasa to get a new code. After 20+ minutes, we finally got it. We thought there was a fire pit, but there wasn't. The "grill" listed was not a BBQ, but a flat-top, so we couldn't do s'mores like we'd planned. The kitchen needed a new set of pans, a cookie sheet, larger cooking dishes (like a 9" x 13" or 10" x 15" Pyrex dish) and serving platters/plates as well as A sharp knife! When a house says it will sleep 10+ people, I would expect it to have more than one 8" x 8" dish. The washer and dryer needed to be deep cleaning and smelled like mold and mildew. On the good side, the beds were comfortable, and the linen closet was nicely stocked. I'm not sure if the listing said anything about having a hair dryer, but it would've been nice to know that they supplied shampoo, conditioner, soap, TP, paper towels, dish soap, new sponge etc. so I didn't have to pack it. The driveway was huge and could easily hold 8+ cars. We didn't like the fact that the garbage from the previous party was taking up 3/4 of the outside, rolling bin and stuck so bad, we had to keep moving it farther and farther away from the house so we could stand walking past it into the house. The stairs on the pulley system were broken so we couldn't get down to the beach and had to use the next-door neighbor's stairs. Looked like someone was getting ready to pour some new concrete stairs, but that didn't help my 85-year-old Uncle.

The house was a great location for what we wanted to do, spend time in Port Townsend and hang out together. The rooms upstairs were great for all the girls to hang out together before they go their separate ways. House had everything we needed and was clean upon arrival.

Gorgeous view
We had 5 adults and 2 children staying here. There was plenty of room for all of us. We could all be together or if someone wanted privacy they could go to another room. The view of the sound was amazing and we really enjoyed it. It was comfortable and all of the basics were provided. We were here in the winter, but summer visitors would be able to enjoy the outdoor seating and the basketball/pickleball court. There were a few places that could have been cleaner, but overall it was clean. I would stay here again.

Too many cobwebs to count
My husband had to quickly get off dining room chair as the legs were very wobbly. No TV or internet... no idea why there is a TV there.... no DVD player so couldnt even go out and get a movie. Planned power outage last day so woke up with no coffee or shower before leaving. We should have been told there would be one.

Beautiful scenic view and Mongolian BBQ grill
The view was awesome. There were also a lot of alternative play areas for kids, such as basketball, pickle ball, sands, and also boardgames in the den and upstairs. The most remarkable thing was the Mongolian bbq grill. First time experience and we used it all night. It was very intuitive and out was highly delicious. I am still a fan of charcoal ones, but this is an awesome choice for getaways. Just one thing to consider. If you are sensitive to highway noise, this property may be suitable for you. It was not a big deal for us and we enjoyed and spent a very good time at the property overall.

The location was lovely. Amazing views, very spacious. About a 15-20 minute drive to Port Townsend, which offers many wonderful restaurants and shops. Only issue was the lack of internet and TV reception. Hosts might want to consider a satellite dish to remedy that problem.

Spacious home with beautiful view
This was a comfortable stay for 9. All three kids in one room let the rest of the families spread out into the additional beds/sleeping areas. Wireless didn’t work, but we expected it to be spotty, so it wasn’t a deal breaker. Would definitely rent again!

Comfortable but Remote
This is a good place to stay if you want to hang out a few days at a location with a great view in quiet environment. If you have places to be in the area, like I did, it's a little remote. The house is large enough to accommodate a large group. The internet and televisions (which the ad says are on cable) were basically inoperative which was a minor issue since we had children with us. The house is needs upgrading as some of the chairs were stained, the oven was dirty and front door was difficult to open. The bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry facilities and kitchen (except for the oven) were fine. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and with some attention to worn or broken items at the house, it could be a great destination for relaxation.

Sleeps 10, feeds 8
Aside from some of our local activities being curtailed by high tides and weather this time of year, the home met our needs for sleeping. But there were only 8 place settings which means you’ll need to bring you own dishes to cover the extra two guests and run the dishwasher between meals. To our surprise there was a basketball, racquets, and a net. TVs were HDMI only and unfortunately incompatible with our portable DVD player, and the rental agency failed to confirm this prior to our visit when we asked. They were very responsive when we found a leak. Not recommended for younger kids because of the accessible attic crawl spaces.

Great view and location but lots of issues with the house
My extended family and I rented this property for almost two weeks. On the plus side - the home had a beautiful view of the bay and access to a rocky beach. On a clear day we could see Mt. Baker across the bay. The home was roomy with 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on the main floor, and 2 more bedrooms upstairs with a shared bath. But there were negatives which really took away from our experience, especially considering that the combined rent and fees exceeded $500 per night; we paid a premium price for not at all a premium experience. Our primary issue was with the housekeeping - there was a lot of dust and dirt in the house; many pine needles from outside found their way into the freezer and fridge; the oven was not clean so it smoked when we tried to preheat it; the garbage bins outside were full and there were 8 big bags or garbage stacked inside the garage. The grounds were not kept up - there were downed branches and pine needles all over the place; the outdoor grill was filthy. We were dismayed by the condition of the property and by the lack of any welcoming touches (we had to buy our own salt and pepper - really?) While on vacation we spent our own money and time to buy supplies and clean the place. Besides this, the internet doesn't work between about 10:30am to 6:30pm - BYO hotspot - so the two internet-enabled TV's don't work and if they do, BYO streaming subscriptions since the owner only offers basic cable with shows you'd never want to watch. Except for the living room furniture the futons elsewhere were super uncomfortable. One of the upstairs bedrooms had a ton of road noise from the very busy hwy 104 right behind the property. We had to buy bottled water because the property's own water is really hard and sulfurous well water. We had issues with Vacasa too - it took 30 minutes on the phone with them just to get the correct access code to get into the place; they weren't at all responsive to the internet problem,, they came only days later to remove the garbage - in the end they credited about 1.5 days of the overall rental. There was nothing welcoming here - no instructions on how to use appliances or the wood pellet firebox; limited supplies like TP; not a single book or puzzle or game. My family and I have had great experiences with other vacation rental services. We will never ever again rent through Vacasa - they don't seem to care about cleanliness, value, and customer satisfaction.

Relaxing Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay here. The view of the water was fantastic and water access unique and easy to use. The deck area was awesome and we relaxed on the deck all weekend. There is plenty of space for a large group and we loved the extra beanbags it was a nice touch for extra seating in the front room. There was a couple areas that could have been cleaned more thoroughly and I gave the property a 4/5 on cleanliness. Overall this property was very enjoyable for our weekend getaway. Overall it exceeded expectations.

Off the radar
It was a family retreat for us, no children and it fit our needs nicely*. The place was clean and had ample space to spread out while relaxing. Beach-combing was at the end of the driveway and short drives released new charms (Port Ludlow Falls, and Port Gamble were just minutes away). *the only issues we discovered was that the televisions(2) were internet dependent and the internet service is described as Intermittent. So we weren't able to get them to work during our stay and our web services were stressed at times. Being a coastal property we didn't mind the lack of distractions but it would have been nice to have been better informed up front. It's a very nice house and a lovely neck of the woods.

Wonderful location for a family!
This property made a great spot for our extended family of 8. We were able to relax and enjoy the sights nearby. The home is very clean, kitchen well-stocked, and beds very comfortable. The location is easy to find. The beach access is a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, but the view of the water is just as enjoyable from the deck on the house.
