"The Hanayura is fantastic. The facilities are old but it's all clean and well kept. The front doors smell of sulfur but that's because you're in an onsen town. The meals were fantastic. Very filling and very intricately prepared. Be aware that the meals may not be to everyone's taste. Or you may not notice the intricacy or details in the preparation. But you're here to experience a traditional ryokan and traditional meals. If that's not for you then you shouldn't pick some place like this. The in room onsen cools down at the bottom in the morning so mix the water before hopping in. Assortment of public onsen was great as well. The hotel has a walk through to another onsen that you can access for free as well. We only found out on the last day"

"The hotel is very Japanese classic, you need to take off your shoes and store it at the entrance. Besides that, it is great! The staffs there are super friendly; The hot spring is definitely top tier, with nature spring hot water in. Room is also Japanese style, room is spacious and cozy. The only thing that need to notice is that the area does not have much public transportation or taxi services, you can ask the front desk to call a taxi for you, but need to prepare additional waiting time."

"Conveniently located at the lower slope of Noboribetsu. Price is affordable but lift is small and slow. Onsen is a indoor and an outdoor with no views. Room is clean, spacious with plenty of charging plugs in the room. Bed, pillow and duvet is soft and comfortable. We had a wonderful sumptuous Japanese breakfast with mixture of western delights. You do have to walk up a slope to reach the Carpark. If you want an affordable place to stay, here is a good recommendation."

"One of the best hotel I ever stayed Room: Larger than the normal you would find in the city. View: We got the wonderful lake view and we can't be more happy with the beauty in winter. Bed/Pillow/Duvet: they are all soft, comfortable Onsen (Roof top): the most beautiful view you can get for the outdoor with 2 round tub. There is also a small cold bath and a sauna. Spacious onsen and plenty of showers ensure its not crowded. Indoor onsen temperature is hotter than outdoor. Onsen (Basement): An outdoor and an indoor with sauna. Outdoor onsen temperature is hotter than indoor. A beautiful garden right in front of the outdoor. Dining hall: Overseeing the lake and snow in winter. Food: I had the breakfast and its has great mix of traditional Japanese and western delights. Food was great as a whole. Lobby: there is a large resting area with books for you to relax and read.
