Bois Blanc is a beautiful, restful island. However, there are no stores or businesses apart from a small cafe which is within walking distance of the cabin. Our cabin was so comfortable--the beds were nice, the cabin was clean, and the property has a beautiful view. The cottage was stocked with everything you need for cooking, including spices! Although we tried to make sure we brought enough food for our stay, the cabin had everything we needed to keep ourselves fed and happy: pots, pans, coffee supplies (including coffee), dishes, glasses, cups, etc. It's all there. The furniture is comfortable, and there were towels and even a spare toothbrush in the bathroom. We've stayed in many cabins over the years, including on Mackinac Island, and this one was hands down Number One! We can't say enough about how welcomed we were by our host. Totally worth it. Deer come on the front lawn to meander, and Lake Huron is right there in front of the house! The pictures posted for this property don't do it justice. We had a family of 6 staying there, and we were fine. The cabin has been updated with new appliances and what looked like a new floor. Stylish. The property owners seemed to remember things guests might forget, and they were there. Lots of spare pillows and extra blankets for sleeping. There is a farmer's market on Saturday mornings--don't miss it!
We are grateful to our host for our accommodations. If you like a restful place to explore, do a little walking, see wildlife, and have time to eat and read, this is your spot! We brought an air fryer, but there is a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and two coffee-makers (a drip and a Keureg--with pods supplied). We found it all so comfortable. We had a very memorable stay and a wonderful vacation.
