"The resort was beautiful and the rooms were lovely. The grounds could have been better maintained. In this area we didn’t see much for wildlife but there was a family of monkeys in the trees at the resort which was great!"

"Unbelievable property!!! A complete Oasis. Staff was incredible-Kaylin, Scarlet, Jeremy and Santi were attentive, kind and made me feel at home. My “tienda” was spotless and comfortable. I highly recommend this property for its tranquility and amazing pool area. You won’t be disappointed."

"Overall we had a great time staying at Mango Y Mono in Playa Portrero. The service from the hosts was excellent. They were very helpful and responsive when we needed something. They arranged all of our transportation for us as well as any excursions we wanted to try. The layout of Mango Y Mono is great as well for a big group. "We had to leave a day early. There was construction going on next to us which we were not told about ahead of time. They are building more bungalows. Between the open netting at the ceiling and windows without curtains, it was noisy and we had no privacy. In addition we waited 15 minutes and didn’t get hot water for the shower the last two mornings we were there. The beach was not walking distance as advertised. "We loved our stay!! The location was perfect, we didn’t want to be right in the hustle and bustle but wanted to be driving distance. The beaches were so great, the tide pools amazing, pool was perfect and we sat on the veranda facing the ocean every morning and every evening. The security guards were so smiley and nice!! "What an experience! If you are looking for a change from busy all inclusive resorts this is a great option. The unit is gorgeous. Spacious with a back yard with a pool overlooking the ocean. It is in a gated community which adds to the exclusiveness of the experience. The beach which is in walking distance is gorgeous with warm water and good size waves. The property management led by Meaghan took care of all of our request. All around great experience for us. Pura Lavida!"

"The property was definitely unique and beautiful. Service was very good if you leave small tips every day. We ran out of cash one day and the bed was not quite made up)). Quite nice breakfast but not too special. Beautiful swimming pool with a bit of insects now and then. Kitchen counters were not cleaned well enough on arrival. Matress on the bed was ok, but don’t expect Marriott quality. For 3 of us we had the whole bungalow which was fabulous, our daughter had the second floor. It looks better in real life than their pictures. Conveniently located to the beach and restaurants. Wear a hat and be prepared to cover your nose when walking to the beach - the road is very dusty."
