It has a large roof terrace, two small gardens with terraces (a garden with a terrace in front of the house and behind the house the fully fenced terrace and pool area with a breathtaking sea view). Around the house you will find some seating with garden furniture on the terraces or roof terrace as well as 4 sun loungers, 1 parasol to sit in the shade of the sun as you wish.
At the near sea with sand / pebble beach are 2 charming beach bars. There is everything there for daily needs for a day at the sea. Of course, there are also sun loungers with umbrellas the beach bar guests free of charge (as of summer 2019).
The house is very quiet, with complete privacy, at the end of a cul-de-sac, in a small private complex (partly owner-occupier, partly cottage rental) and within walking distance of all amenities (tavernas, kafenion, bakery, butcher, mini / supermarket) the village of Tavronitis.
THE HOUSE
This charming property with the typical Greek blue and white color scheme consists of two bedrooms each with 1 double bed (1x1,6x2m with soft mattress, 1x1,4x2m with hard mattress) fitted wardrobes, two bathrooms each with toilet, sink, shower (with proper shower enclosure), full equipped kitchen (ua Dishwasher, microwave, toaster, Senseo Pad coffee maker, coffee maker for pressing, etc.) And living room with 2 sofas, 46 inch satellite Smart TV with dolby surround system. All this on one level.
When you reach the property, a beautiful and colorful garden, located in front of the house, welcomes you.
You enter the house and see the very stylish open plan living room / dining room with a wood burning stove and air conditioning. Many windows and French sliding doors guarantee the constant flow of light in the house.
On the right side, separated from the living area by a breakfast bar, is the fully equipped underground kitchen with plenty of storage space. A small hall leads to the 2 bedrooms each with their own shower rooms with WC.
The master bedroom has a double bed, make-up corner, bedside tables, a 4-door, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe, a door leading to a patio with an open pergola, and a private toilet / shower room with an electric towel rail.
The second bedroom with double bed, bedside tables and sufficiently large built-in closet also has its own patio access, as well as a dressing table. Again, there is a separate small toilet / shower room with an electric towel rail.
The entire interior is of high quality and tastefully furnished, so that our guests feel like they are in a "feel-good home" on vacation.
The house is fully equipped and could be inhabited year-round. The house has double glazed aluminum windows with fly screens on all windows and patio doors.
OUTSIDE
The north-facing main patio is a place for outdoor living. The view of the sea is absolutely breathtaking. The sun-roofed pergola features a seating area with patio furniture and a gazebo with a dining table next to it. There is the ideal place to eat and drink. The wall to the neighbor not only provides shade, but together with the wooden patio gate guarantees complete privacy. The entire complex is tiled with natural stone floors. Under the stairs to the roof terrace is the utility room also used by the janitorial service with freezer, washing machine and dryer.
The garden is the Aufstell-pool with sea views, many garden furniture with matching seat cushions, a wooden garden shed (only for janitorial service) and a charcoal grill.
Tiled steps lead to the terraced terracotta tiles. A pergola covered with an awning offers breathtaking views of the sea, the Rodopos peninsula and the beautiful sunsets.
The house is detached, very quiet and in an absolute top location, only about 150 meters walk from the sea (100m as the crow flies) and about 650 meters walk (10 minutes on a leisurely walk) from the village center.
THE AREA
The coastal village of Tavronitis, which starts about 250 meters from the property, is a lively Greek village that does not "shut down" in winter and offers all the amenities. The village beach consists of sand and pebbles and crystal clear water.
Tavronitis also has a motorway exit to Chania - Kissamos, from where you can reach the center of the city of Chania, with its beautiful Venetian harbor and in about 40 minutes to the airport in about 20 minutes.
It is located in western Crete and belongs to the municipality of Platanias. Tavronitis is a traditional quiet little village with several taverns, bakers, butchers, supermarkets, hairdressers, pharmacy, dry cleaners and small shops. The sandy / pebble beach of Tavronitis extends to the coastal town of Kolimbari (6Km), there is a small promenade on the beach and 2 beach tavernas. The place has a great water quality. We ourselves like to use this sand / pebble beach because it is not crowded.
The hinterland of Tavronitis is ideal for walking and cycling.
Enjoy the famous nature reserves such as the Imbros Gorge (about 80 km / 60 minutes away by car), the Samaria Gorge (about 60 km / 45 minutes drive) and visit the Natural Monument, the oldest olive tree (it is only a few km away on the village square from Vouves and is estimated at 3500 - 5000 years with a diameter of 3.64 meters and a circumference of 12.5 meters).
The famous dream beaches of Falasarna and Elafonsi are only 32km / 40 minutes by car or 65km / 80 minutes by car.
The birthplace of the Sirtaki in the village of Stafros with its beautiful beach and its taverns are only 35km / 45 minutes away by car.
Many Northern Europeans have built their second home in the hinterland of Tavronitis and Kolimbari, which is not by chance.
You can easily reach Tavronitis by bus, which runs regularly from Chania, or by taxi. Another option is to rent a car or a motorcycle.
