"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Pousada Solar Dos Deuses in Salvador, Brazil, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, the warm and personalized hospitality made me feel right at home. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the historic Pelourinho district, surrounded by vibrant music, colorful architecture, and the rich cultural energy of Salvador. I stayed in the Oxóssi room, which featured a balcony with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Square. During the Christmas season, the streets were alive with festivities, and it was an absolute joy to watch the shows and celebrations below from the comfort of my balcony. It truly felt like I was part of the magic of Salvador. Each suite is uniquely themed and beautifully decorated, showcasing the artistry and heritage of Bahia. Breakfast was a delight—served in-room with a selection of fresh tropical fruits, local delicacies, and perfectly brewed coffee. While the breakfast was fantastic, I also recommend exploring some of the incredible local restaurants nearby to fully experience Salvador's culinary delights. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was exceptional. Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful recommendations made all the difference. Pousada Solar Dos Deuses offers a perfect blend of luxury, culture, and comfort. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Salvador. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!"

"Since we arrived tried to contact Expedia that we were upset about the room but due to poor internet connection could not get thru. Had to walk steep stairs to the 3rd floor, of an old building, huffing n puffing, rattan on chairs tattered, dilapidated mattress, filthy bacteria laden string to pull flush, toilet cover cracked, insecure seat, lumpy pillows, old stained mirror, breakfast laid out in old plastic containers.Horrible! Pics on website deceiving, upset! Only saving grace were staff and lady who cooked breakfast offered us scrambled eggs on second last morning.breakfast area colourful but had shoddy curtains and laundry sheets - we had no idea what we were getting into as we booked a package air and hotel. We have booked a lot of travel with Expedia but this was the worst. Moved to second floor mattress better. Imagine walking up and down those steep stairs - had to take a break to catch our breath. Not used to these standards. Upsetting experience."
