"We stayed in a Hotiday room,24. The hotel was in a fabulous location a few minutes walk from the castle and cathedral and the old city has a wonderful grid system so it is easy to navigate. Parking is through a side gate and then there are plenty of spaces but at €18 a day it is quite pricey. Check in was functional. The hotel was very grand but is now somewhat faded, think shabby chic with extra shabby. There was some wonderful old furniture dotted around but some of the stair carpets were...

In the event our son's fiancée was unable to make the trip. When we arrived we were told there had been a mixup and we would have to move temporarily to what was admittedly a better room which we did. "We had a very pleasant stay here. The room was very large with a very spacious bathroom. Everything was extremely clean and very well appointed. We received a friendly welcome even with a major language barrier. We were encouraged to have our evening meal in their restaurant - what a treat it was! Excellent local food, plentiful and well priced. Breakfast was included in our room rate - it was very good! This entitles you to a coffee and a croissant with a limited value. I would not call this “including breakfast”. The kitchenette is not very well equipped, nor was it very clean. "Fabtastic location right next to the train station. Great communication with the Giorgi Homes / Wonderful Italy team via Whatsapp. The apartment worked perfectly for a shorter stay and the kitchen had basic equipment for cooking but no salt, pepper or oil though. "

"Residenza Ariosto is an excellent place to stay in Bologna. The apartment is not luxurious but is clean ,comfortable and has everything you need. The apartments in via Marsala are in a great position to explore and enjoy Bologna. Instructions for check in are clear. This is our second stay and we highly recommend."

"Great apartment but the building is undergoing some massive renovation and there was a lot of noise during the day and construction scaffolds everywhere. Both balconies in the apartment had scaffolding out front so we couldn’t use them and had to keep the windows closed. The area isn’t great, typical university type vibe. Didn’t feel unsafe at all, but lots of graffiti. If we go back I’d probably choose a place closer to piazza maggiorie. "

"Excellent value for money and modern facilities. Hotel also offers breakfast with a lovely selection. The only downside is that the sound insulation is not so good and one can hear doors slamming easily."

"This hotel is really well located in the centre, so it's easily walkable to everything you need and lots of major attractions, restaurants, food markets etc. The staff are the best aspect of the hotel, both in reception and in the dining areas. Breakfasts were good, and the hotel resturant menu looked excellent although we had already booked other restaurants for dinner. Unfortunately the bathroom in our room flooded every time we used the shower, and the heating wasn't easy to control without asking reception to do it. Overall a great little hotel, and any shortcomings were easy to ignore given the lovely staff."
