"I loved my stay ay Oro! Clean, the air conditioning was a blessing in the heat! The rooms are a walkup, one short flight of stairs. Super good pizza and salads, 2 blocks away, beside the post office. As happens frequently in Central America, the checkin attendant didn’t spesk English, so just log in to the internet and use Google translate and all will be fine. I recommend!"

" My two grandchildren (ages 11 and 23) and I had an adventure of a lifetime. We felt we were experiencing the real Costa Rica with the horseback ride into the hills, snorkeling off Cano Island with the turtles, viewing humpback whales, picking up sand dollars off the nearby beach, quietly exploring the maze of mangrove swamps, and drinking from a freshly-cut coconut on Jose’s fruit farm. We were able to get by with our very minimal Spanish. After our excursions, it was a delight to return to the house and “chill” while Dolly cooked our exquisite dinners. Everything was fresh and we usually had leftovers for the next day. My area was the upstairs and the kids had the downstairs. Ruben and his wife helped with getting us to places, cleaning, and laundry. Everybody associated with this villa was very kind and you had no worries. My grandchildren still talk about the trip. This region is so lush with flora and fauna. Yes, we saw monkeys and sloths in the nearby area. We highly recommend the Casa Rio Sierpe! It’s more than lodging; it’s an immersive cultural experience. "

"We loved, loved, loved this place. The room was fantastic and having an open air bathroom was such an unusual treat. We got to see monkeys from our porch as well as many other creatures on the night tour. The food was also fantastic. If we lived closer we would certainly visit again. "

"Watching monkeys and toucans eye level while drinking coffee in the morning, listing to the rain or wildlife during the night. Making dinner or playing cards in the evening 70 feet in the tree. We never felt scared or unconformable, but very alive, therefore our family of 5 will never forget that experience. Very unique tree house with all the the features a home needs. Thank you, Michael for opening your home to us so we are able to experience Costa Rica's rain forest at it best."

"The property is wild and wonderful! They are really not joking about the trek to get in there, but that is part of why it's so great once you are there. That road is something, and then parking is a bit from the tree house. We saw all kinds of wildlife and enjoyed both sunny and stormy weather. It had an immersion feel for sure. The trees are stunning old growth! There was a wonderful path down to a river/rapids to play in. I would suggest people to pack minimally what they will carry up so it's easier to get their supplies from the car, but once you are there, the tree house is divine and has everything you need! The solar power worked really well even though it was rainy the first day. The shower was warm and comforting after hiking in a hard rain. When we showed up for check-in we had a sick kid and a lightening storm had just started, so they were so supported! Thank you!"
