"I stayed here for 2 nights with my family and booked last minute. Location was great and it was a clean and comfortable stay. If you have any mobility issues however, I wouldn't recommend as we stayed at the top which had narrow steep stairs. Other odd quirks were there was not one bowl in the room or kitchen. Also we booked for 3 people and arrived to a room with a fold out and had to find the bedding. We found a fitted sheet available (but didn't fit the fold out couch properly) and a blanket...

"Booked this for a wedding at the Harbour Hotel in St Ives. It's about a 30 minute walk if you don't have a car which was fine for us. The room is gorgeous but it does not come with nice shampoo or conditioner, not a huge problem but I assumed it would given the pictures and had to nip out to Tesco to get some. Otherwise it was perfect, amazing bath tub with a view."

"Stayed with my friend, impressions are mixed. The room was clean, but the furniture is a bit worn out. Good location — a bus stop and shops are nearby, which is very convenient. "Agnes is so welcoming and a ray of sunshine! The breakfast is a very high standard, your bedroom will be furnished beautifully and the beds are comfy. Located close to the center and free parking. The hosts will go out of there way to explain the attractions near by. Highly recommended and will be back, has made our visit to cornwall very enjoyable. "

"Good convenient location, clean room, comfortable bed. Jackie was helpful & very welcoming. There is public car park next to property so it can be a bit noisy from the road but it didn't troubled me much. I would recommend this guest house and happily book again if I travel to Newquay again."

"Great place for a family get together. Plenty of room to spread out. Hot tub and games room were well used. The house is bright, modern and comfortable. Some of the double bedrooms were smaller than expected but fine overall. Beds were very comfortable. It was useful to have extra living space in the annexe. The lounge there became a temporary home office. One downside-the dishwasher was not adequate for the number of people staying at full occupancy. We spent too much time at the kitchen sink....

"I had a lovely stay, the room was great with a decking area to sit out and a lovely bathroom. Check in was seamless and Jon the porter showed me to and around my room. The hotel is in a great location, walkable to the town centre and just a few minutes off the A30."

"We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Alverton. Everything about the stay was perfect. Staff were helpful and friendly. Premises were stunning. Food was excellent. In particular the hotel went 'above and beyond' when we initially had to change our plans. We will definitely stay again when we return to Truro."

"The staff are amazing at this hotel. The breakfast was great and buffet with porridge/a range of cereals /fruit/yogurt etc. lovely bread too! We had a sea view and it was amazing looking over the beach and the small train . Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel team. Thank you x. We will come again soon. Ps bus stop right outside the hotel to many top places to visit. Train station a few yards away to Penzance, st Erth and more! "
