"Everything about this property is lovely, the rooms, the grounds, the ownership and staff. The property has a beautiful view. We had a wonderful breakfast each morning and everyone was very accommodating. Our room was spacious and very clean. The owner was friendly and helpful with every question and request. We came by train and didn't need a car, the walk into town is about five minutes and the owner will call a taxi if needed. There is parking if you do have a car. We took a tour of some of the wineries of the Douro Valley through a separate company and it was the best day of our trip. Regua is lovely and we can't wait to return!"

"Beautiful property and amazing staff. The weather was a bit rainy but it was still very beautiful and the indoor pool was amazing. You do need to wear a swim cap for the indoor pool though. Good breakfast as well"

"Beautiful property with a great wine tour. Breakfast was delicious as well and it had a nice bar. There are wild peacocks and pea hens running around and the spa has some unusual treatments. Loved this stay!"

"Lovely hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The spa was heaven as the indoor pool, hot tub and Turkish bath were included. I didn't see the sense in having to buy the shower cap/swimming cap as it wasn't waterproof "

Breakfast is delicious and served in your room. I highly recommend to stay at Portovella Lodges and Bungalows when visiting this part of Douro Valley!"
