"Just amazing. The only problem was that even though smoking is not allowed, the room did smell slightly of very old cigarette smoke. I just kept the window a bit for fresh air and the smell went away. The room was a 4th floor walkup, w/ narrow steep high stairs. Real wood floors, high ceilings, very old, gorgeous, awesome. Person who worked there so helpful when I needed help with a few things, immediately came up to help. Great neighborhood. Nice kitchens+bathroom w/ hot shower. So...

"Quiet, clean, comfortable, no frills hostel just 1/2 a block from Central Park. You will get a little exercise going up and down the stairs because there is no elevator. Small sacrifice though; for hot shower water which actually does get hot, even during the winter."
