"Great communication before our stay. Such a beautiful place in Paradise valley. Lovely property with garden surrounding, the rooms are clean, well equipped and modern. Close enough to Rotarua for trips in and shopping, but isolated enough to feel like you’re off grid. Amazing - we loved it. Thank you Heather. Recommend the Wai Ariki hot springs and spa as well - Restorative journey - pure luxury - we were on our own there in the evening. "

"We stayed here last 2 of 3 nites in Rotorua after leaving the first Bookabach after 1 nite. Great comms with owner; easy check in. Very centrally located to activities in Rotorua. Fully equipped kitchen. Only drawback was lack of instructions for induction stovetop. But we finally figured it out on second nite (google to the rescue). Comfy beds and good to have A/C. Would recommend."

"When we arrived outside the property we were unsure how to gain entry we didn’t realise it was a separate part of Tim’s house. We then ran the bell and he showed us to the property at the side of his property. Unfortunately there was a widespread power cut when we were there but Tim was able to reassure us it was over a large area and due back on in 3 hours. Property was presented in a very clean condition with good facilities including a washing machine and clothes horse."

"Last minute booking, I saw mixed reviews & emailed the host for phone chat, but he suggested messaging, which felt like it would take too long. With limited options, we just hoped for the best.Before our trip, I got a msg from the host about house rules treating me like a teenager. The tone felt off for a family holiday. Upon noticing the booking is not accurate, I told Bachcare & host to clarify. Host claimed it wasn’t an error, implying we’d deliberately not booked for kids. I simply didn't argue & requested the extra amount. Before processing payment, I received multiple reminders as if I were going to skip out on it.Issues-Empty bottles found under the bed-Insects & spider webs around the house-Strong smell of Asian cooking lingered-Personal belongings from previous guests-Sharp, chipped glass-edged table that could easily hurt a child-No bathmats-Old ceramic heater couldn’t be used after Nov, the house gets cold in night, especially with two sick infants. Despite asking, the host showed no empathy toward the concern-Couch was broken and ignored- Pool room non-operational, unlike shown in the pictures—a clear misrepresentation-Upstairs bathroom drain clogged, and despite informing the host, it wasn’t fixedThe host was proactive, but lacked empathy. While the house is large and spacious, I would caution others not to expect the Kiwi hospitality, especially at this high price. If you're not too picky, you might still have a good time. Paid 4k for 3 Nights"

"This really did feel like the ultimate secluded retreat. The cabin is wonderful, so many little touches and inclusivities to make your stay really lovely. So lovely spending the morning sitting in one of the rocking chairs on the deck, reading and listening to the birds. Or finding the glow worms in the bank opposite the cabin- a real highlight! Cant recommend this place enough."

"I highly recommend staying at Aorangi Peaks Cabins. They are small, perfect for 1-2 people per cabin, and have all the appliances necessary all the while overlooking the beautiful Lake Rotorua and city. I even woke up to watch the sunrise oneI’m morning and had the most incredible view. My only complaint is the very poor wifi. While they do provide you with wifi, it is very limited and was often not actually able to connect from my cabin. Other than that though, enjoy the views, enjoy the peace and quiet, and definitely enjoy waving to the alpacas that reside on property on your drive up!"
