My family of four stayed at The Reef in a studio ocean-view room and had a fantastic experience. The room was very clean, and the built-in kitchen was in excellent condition, equipped with everything we needed, including salt, pepper, and a small dishwasher. It was perfect for preparing simple meals, and we saved on breakfast and a few other meals. The nearby supermarket at Marina Village was convenient, and the free shuttle made it easy to get there. The weather was a bit windy, making walks between towers chilly. Although free shuttle buses are available, the drivers weren’t particularly friendly, likely due to having to repeat instructions frequently since not all buses stop at every location. We found walking more enjoyable overall. Dining options were great, with typical vacation island prices. We had an exceptional meal at Fish, an upscale restaurant. The water park was a highlight, with incredible aquariums and sea life throughout the property. However, it was disappointing that some water slides were closed for maintenance, especially since it wasn’t low season. This was inconvenient but didn’t overshadow our fun with the included water park features. The resort offers many activities, but most come with additional costs that can be steep, such as kids’ adventures and mini golf. Service was exceptional. The waitstaff were attentive and witty, and the front desk and concierge were always helpful and super attentive. We would definitely come back.

The waterpark - Aquaventure was amazing and entertaining for all ages. The beaches were cool and the resort provided cabanas were a great. The Reef rooms had kitchenettes which were great for warming takeaway foods from the many restaurants on property. Resort staff was very helpful and prompt. Great people! From the valet, front desk to room service and housekeeping all showed genuine hospitality and made sure we had the best vacation possible. Kudos to the team!

Reef is tucked away from the busier parts of the property. The 1 bedroom suite felt more like a luxury condo then a hotel room. Amenities at the cove are significantly nicer then the reef but the rooms do not offer a kitchen. Reef guests are NOT allowed to use cove amenities. Harbour view still had a view of the ocean.

Atlantis has always been our dream and we (2 adults and 2 children) were really looking forward to our stay there. The hotel (The Reef) is clean but bears visible signs of time. The room with a double bed and a sofa bed was sufficient for us. There is a small kitchenette in the room which is fully equipped. In general, at first glance everything is fine, BUT... The Reef does not have a restaurant where you can have a simple and uncomplicated meal. There is only a Starbucks coffee shop and a small store where you can buy the essentials (at totally exorbitant prices - but I don't have to write that, do I?). And so, if a family wants to have breakfast, they have to go to the neighboring Royal and have breakfast there at the breakfast buffet for a whopping USD 39.99 per adult. In general, the food there was the biggest problem for our family. Our children don't understand that relaxation at Atlantis is of secondary importance and is completely subordinate to the food cult. Our children had a lot of fun at the hotel swimming pools and slides. The beach is beautiful even if a little rocky. There are plenty of sun loungers on the beach. Bahamas has culturally adopted everything from America, and what is very annoying is that tipping is expected at every turn and everywhere - even at Starbucks! Bottom line - we would not recommend this hotel to families with children unless you like to deal with meal planning on vacation. Even if the children are older, we will not return.

Hard review for me. It was the most beautiful property I’ve been to and the locals around the Bahamas and Atlantis are by far the friendliest in Central America (in my opinion). I don’t know if the expensive truly warrants the experience. That being said it is unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else. We stayed at the reef and the facilities were well kept and modern. Our pool was nearly private and that alone was amazing. I would encourage young adults/ couples to stay at the Cove simply for the option of accessing the adults only pool as well. It seemed to us there wouldn’t be any downsides of staying at the Cove. There was another review that really resounds with me. It was worth every penny of the visit but not necessarily worth a revisit. Though I would say I lean towards revisit. If you haven’t been and want to go, absolutely check it out.
