"We loved the neighborhood that this property is in, particularly that it was walkable to good food, quiet at night, and had a nice small park nearby. The staff were great and very accommodating and helpful. What the property lacks is privacy -- other visitors hanging out outside of their rooms talking sounded like they were in our room, and if our blinds were open, anyone could see in. Overall, though, I would stay here again."

"Very clean and welcoming. Adorable and sensible tiny homes. Fridge and cupboards stocked for breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, bread, yogurt… walk to the fence and pet the sweet cow. Sat in the hot tub and sipped some cab. We were genuinely sad to leave! Thank you!!"

"We started our adventure here and John was the perfect host. He served up a wonderful breakfast accompanied by great conversation. Our room was clean and comfortable. We walked down to the marina and found lots of food and shopping. Great place to stay if you want to bypass stuffy hotel rooms. "

"My wife and I spent two nights with Andy & Pip at the lodge at the start of our New Zealand vacation. They were great hosts, picked us up at the ferry dock, helped guide us with local transportation options (take advantage of the bus system to the local wineries) and Pip provided a wonderful breakfast that was a highlight of our visit. "For a homestay the property was in good condition.They offer a basic continental breakfast if you need a quick bite. However, the noise from vehicles passing by the road especially at night was bothering. "

"Charming B&B! Area is lovely (although it was raining during our stay so we didn’t get as much of a chance to enjoy the location as we would have liked… but it IS breathtaking.) On the bay, lovely walk to town … couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful spot! Hosts are wonderful people … homemade bread and jams, fruit, yogurt and assorted cereals for breakfast… would recommend Dovecote to everyone!"

"While we didn’t require provisions for disabilities, they had an excellent set-up for those that do need such. Our host was very accommodating. "

"Location great, cleanliness great, provisions great, access great, nothing about the property could be faulted. Property owner was well prepared and friendly when we arrived, communication before arrival was excellent. The only (very very minor) request for improvement would be a light on the sign on the road, we returned at night and struggled to locate the entrance confidently in the dark. Noting this did not detract from the stay in the slightest."

"The owner is called Chris who knew how to respect me, my wife and my son. He told me the true how to be realistic to/not to go to South Island without enough time to travel there from North to South and transportation."

"My partner and I had a wonderful stay – thank you so much for having us! We absolutely loved having our own spa in the room, the stunning view from our balcony, and the ability to cast movies from our phone to the TV using Google Chromecast. However, we did notice that the outdoor spa next to the pool wasn’t working during our stay (front desk said it is out of order) and the air conditioning in our room could have been more effective. "10 OUT OF 10 highly recommend!!! I couldn’t Figure out the Heat, they came up to the room. W they showed I pointed That the ceiling was hmm detached a bit. They changed my room and even upgraded me! On the spot! And I only Had to move across the hallway, which was a considerate jester. This place was amazing! The 24HR shuttle was great! The staff were awesome! Oh and the BREAKFAST was great!!!! Completely worth it!!! "
