"A perfect start to our Hawaii trip! After a long day of travel from the mainland, we arrived at Kona Palace and were warmly greeted by Rebecca. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast served on the lanai with amazingly beautiful views. Rebecca provided fresh fruit from her property (including fresh-squeezed orange juice), homemade granola, eggs, taro rolls, and more. After breakfast, coffee, and good conversation, we were on our way, but I would have loved to have stayed here longer. 5 stars!"

"What a stunningly beautiful location! It was hard to leave the covered porch with the unobstructed view of the ocean and the serenading by birds and assorted wildlife. We got to enjoy fresh avocados grown on the property, which added to the delight. "

"Outstanding property for large group. Panoramic Views & everything you will need from kitchen to sports and beach chairs / floats, etc. A little drive to sites and action in Kailua, but the peace and tranquillity of this spectacular property is well worth it! Guy is a tremendous host! Dennis"

"The owners felt more like family than "just someone renting a vacation home". The location was exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable Exciting. Sometimes a bit thrilling! The music was playing when we arrived. We felt so welcome. The beds were comfy and the sofa was inviting but nothing (even the pictures) quite prepared us for the view. We saw dolphins, flying fish, whales, a turtle, pretty fish , and a shark! Lots of boating activity to watch as well as canoers and swimmers, and even divers.This is truly a cooker's kitchen! Lots of ways to make your stay a foodie feast. We were thrilled by high surf conditions so the blowhole was blowing! The natural pool is a great way cool off on a sunny afternoon. Plenty of seating options and umbrellas. We might have spent most of our time on the spacious lanai, soaking in the scenery and sunsets. Be careful though! Passion flowers are blooming and they are too pretty to step on! We spent a week up in town, and as nice and fun as that is, we were ready for some peace and quiet, sounds of the birds and the surf, and cold mai tais out in the lounge chairs. Bring your binoculars!!! There's a lot going on out in the ocean, and if you luck out and are there during whale season, you won't be disappointed. We absolutely loved Hale Pali, and hope to return! "

"This property was amazing overall and very comfortable for a family of 4. The views from the deck were amazing and you could smell the sea air throughout the stay there--even though the ocean is about 200 yards away from the property. You are literally 30 minutes from anything, so the peace and quiet at this property is amazing. That is also true for the stars if the night is clear as this area is far away from a lot of light pollution and you can see a "bowl of stars." Finally, while didn't need much from the owner, she is super responsive, friendly, and gives you a ton of information on what to do in the property (rules) and places to go (pro-tip: take her advice on the secret black-sand beach. It's worth the walk!)Couple of notes if you are planning on staying here (which I would highly recommend):The road in and out of this place is STEEP. They don't believe in switchbacks in this neighborhood at all.While she doesn't mention that the place has AC, I just overlooked that it wasn't listed as an amenity. Coming from cold Colorado nights to Hawaii warm was an adjustment for sure. However, she's got plenty of fans in the house to cool it off and it was very pleasurable listening to the frogs sing at night and the symphony of birds in the morning (except that one bird. It knows who it is.)If we find our way back to the big island again, we'd definitely stay at this place again without hesitation! "

"Relaxing, peaceful stay. Kay's place is easy short walk to Manini Beach for snorkeling and water activities. It's a great place for investigating things along the Kona coast. Host was very responsive, helpful, and answered all of our questions."

"Great host, great location. About an hour from Kona, definitely need a car to get around to other areas of the island. But the area is very scenic so the drives were nice. The host was really responsive and left us a bottle of wine and chocolates. Would stay at the house again. "

"Our cute yellow bedroom was adorable. We spent evening hours out on the lanai - Reading out on the lanai was so relaxing! Listening to all the nightly chirping was cool. Emma cooked wonderful breakfasts that started our days eating upstairs on their outdoor patio. Carl shared all the fruits around their home that Emma used. Location was great - we went to one beach 2.5 miles south and saw fish and a sea turtle. Snorkeled at step down beach - cool fish seen. We ventured 15 -25 min for evening meals. Note: downtown Kona parking charges $15/hr - we stayed for one hour to view all the artisans at their art show. Again great b& b - highly recommend!"
