"This hotel building, carved into the stone, survived the 1693 earthquake and is over seven hundred years old. Josepi, on his second day at work, was an enormous help in parking my car, which was a midsize MG SUV. He went over and above what was expected. Breakfast was a joy with great staff, that would make you coffee exactly how I wanted it and kept it coming without having to ask. Sparkling wine awaited you in the cavern-like separate sitting area upon arrival after a stressful drive, before checking in. Linda and Eugenio gave us incredible service making reservations at restaurants for us and advice on visiting Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa. Linda phoned a restaurant for me when I thought that I had left my hat behind. The atmosphere of the hotel more than made up for the somewhat tight quarters of our room which could be accessed from the street, or by going up a spiral staircase cut int0 the stone behind the front desk. Service at it’s finest."

"In our humble opinion, you can’t find a better host in RAGUSA than the owners of Il DUOMO de RELAIS! My wife and I have different priorities when it comes to hotels and it’s frustrating when disagreements turn into arguments. We try to compromise and alternate who picks the hotel in the next town as we drive around the island of Sicily. In Ragusa, a UNESCO world heritage site, she chose Duomo Relais because of the balcony behind the Cathedral Dome and the unexpected happened. God orchestrated it to heal me (Romans 8:38). In my personal relationship with my Heavenly Father I struggled to accept His loving grace because I’m not the “model” husband or father and I felt unworthy. But when I woke up to the sunrise behind the Cathedral Dome I felt God asking me to surrender and let go of my self-condemnation and accept His forgiving grace. In my morning prayers, I wept as I felt a born again experience of God’s love that is relentless and unshakable, reaching out to sinners like me who felt like we don’t belong to church. But on this mountain of Ragusa, I finally surrendered that God loves me unconditionally as I am and not as I should be, because nobody is as they should be. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!"

"This hotel is what made our stay in Ragus Ibla so wonderful. Laura is amazing with all that she does! The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with so many homemade options. The location was great since you're already in the old town (Ibla) and can easily walk from the hotel to the duomo and cafes. We will definitely stay there again!"
