"Shehan, his wife and young son make Saubagya Inn an excellent choice for a stay at Anuradhapura. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom good and the a/c worked well in the hot weather when I stayed. The Guesthouse was about around 40 years ago and with a large, covered veranda makes for very relaxing ‘down time’. Shehan speaks good English and is trained and trains in hospitality. "A very relaxing place. Staff very helpful. The road that leads to this this location is in very bad shape and very difficult to drive unless you have a four wheel drive veheicle. "

"I got in late and left fairly early, so didn't spend much time there. My room had a bug issue and didn't smell so fresh. Also didn't have hot water in the morning - but that got fixed after I told the person at breakfast. Simple, and has potential, but could use a little freshening up."

"The place itself was acceptable, the problem was that when we arrived the room was not ready the owner said that he needed 5 minutes to make the bed. When we looked into the bathroom it was dirty and welet him know and asked for another alternative as we needed to use it after a long trip, we had to wait. More than cleaning he spill some water and dried everything with a towel he left on the floor. We had to keep asking for basic necessities as soap, towels, toilet paper. The owner tried to...

"The team at Big Game was amazing! We booked because we really wanted to do a safari and that was amazing but we were blown away be everything else! The food was above and beyond what I expected with 4 courses for dinner, 3 at lunch , and a very full breakfast. They list breakfast as continental but it's much more than that. The first tent we were in was fine but we upgraded part way through and really appreciated the extra space! "

Great value stay

"I really enjoyed my stay at Kutumbaya. The staff were really friendly and helped organise a safari and tour of the ancient ruins for me. The food was great, particularly the Sri Lankan breakfasts. The WiFi and air con were good and I even found some Premiership football on the TV. I’d definitely stay here again!"

"Everything is good, but there were two minor issues I would point out. 1.) Shower door didn't close completely. 2.) They only give one room key, which you need to plug in for lights to operate. So, there is a chance you can walk out and get locked out the door. When I pointed that out, they gave me a sperate card to plug in for the lights and so my door keys were always in my pocket. One thing I should mention more than anything, staff were super friendly and very helpful!"
