"I can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was at the Marriott Merlin Beach Resort. The staff are AMAZING. We absolutely loved being greeted with their warm smiles. They were extremely attentive to our needs during meals, sitting at the pool and at the beach by the Rum Shack. The resort is very nice and always clean. We opted for the all-inclusive package and were glad we did. The menus at the restaurants were pretty good and we always found something to our liking. If you are looking for a family getaway I would recommend this resort, but be aware it is a little off the beaten path. It is a short taxi or bus ride into Patong, but we didn’t feel the need to leave as all of what we needed was at the resort. There is even an elephant sanctuary only a 5 minute walk up the hill. We will definitely be returning."

"The pool was amazing. Clean rooms and facilities. Breakfast was great. The only thing i found where the pillows werent comfy but other than that i cant complain. The staff where amazing. I had a couple of issues with the glass sliding door not locking and a leak in the roof as soon as i told them it was fixed within minutes. I would highly recommend this resort."

"Likes: - Friendly and efficient staff overall - Free on-premise (only) bicycle for each adult guest - Hotel transportation to private beach - Great view of lagoon - Privacy as this is a villa only property Improvements needed: - Brakes on most bicycles couldn't stop the bicycles (the property has lots of downward slopes) - need to use feet to stop on the narrow road to avoid incoming buggy cars - Waited ~20 minutes under the hot sun at the outdoor activities centre for the staff to arrive in order to get and use the hotel kayaks"
