"We had a family trip stay for 3 nights. Arrived late at night and was warmly greeted and would have given us food if we needed but we ate on the way. Friendly , helpful staff were excellent all around. Food was good to average but the service top notch! We enjoyed time by the pool was lovely. Meerkat safari was arranged for us, then we went to High gate Ostrich farm had a terrific guide Jonathon was so fun! "The reception staff was very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was very good. However, the room (R5), was a bit worn and tired looking and lacked privacy from the adjacent pool area and the walkway to the other units. The main restaurant street is a 20 min walk away and walking after dark was not recommended. Overall, it was an ok one-night stay. However, we had expected more based on the ratings."

"We stayed one night at the Oakdene Guest House and wished we had stayed for two nights. The owners, Sonia and Daniel, were very welcoming and couldn’t have done anymore for us. Sonia cooks her own bread and cakes for guests. The smell and taste of both was fantastic. There is a swimming pool at the end of the long garden which was a great spot to unwind after a long drive. We would recommend this guest house and definitely stay here again if we visit Oudtshoorn. This guest house is perfect for...
