"I stayed in a private bedroom with ensuite - clean, modern, away from the communal kitchen and showers, so it was quiet. Having the pool tables (free to backpackers, 1/2 price on Fri/Sat) downstairs - fun to play a few games there with people I met in the backpackers' kitchen. I'll be going back to On Top next time I'm in Dunners! "

"No refunds is practically theft. We paid and received nothing. Phone call was ridiculous also, no conversation, no reasons, do they even speak English here? Infuriating experience. "

"I thought the staff lacking enthusiasm when approaching reception. Building is run down but everything was clean. We did however enjoyed the rules to do with noise and surprisingly everyone obeyed . "

"Cost apartment. Beautiful views and close to the CBD. We parked in the yacht club parking lot because the driveway was so steep and a bit challenging. Overall good stay."

Excellent stay for one night

"This was a last minute booking for us as we had to change a date. We've been in NZ for thirty days and this is the only large hotel we've stayed in. The bedroom was spotlessly clean, shower great, bed comfy but what was great was the fact that there was a washing machine and tumble drier in the ensuite!! We had breakfast included too which was a nice treat but the coffee choice was poor. Oh and I loved the thick towels in the room. Great location too."
