"The Castle is adequate for a one night stay given lack of options in Accrington itself and close to town centre and transport links. However room was noisy due to traffic being on a major road junction. To balance it is a good pub with friendly and helpful staff. "

"Beautiful hotel with a great history - from the drive up to the hotel you get a good feeling. Parking was straight forward just remember to put your registration number into machine at reception. Reception staff were amazing - didn't get his name but what a credit to himself and the company - so friendly - polite - helpful and upbeat - great start to the stay. Through the amazing old house to our room - we even got a complimentary room upgrade (thank you) old sweeping staircases - oak panelling top quality. Our room was wonderful - great big bed - quality stylish furniture - espresso machine was a nice touch - bathroom top notch - great big shower with rain fall shower head - top quality toiletries. Back through the hotel to the spa / leisure facility really nice sauna - pool - gym (just a point it can get busy as it as has none hotel members. Bar area was lovely sat out and enjoyed the sun on the decking then back into the bar to chill.Breakfast was fantastic - self service loads of choice cooked breakfast - cereal - fruit - pastries. Were able to chill in the lounge area with a coffee and just watch the world go by. Walks around the hotel are nice - with some of the most friendly cows I've every met - coming to the fence and wall for a pet. Loved the stay and will certainly be back again when we are up in the area. "

Fabulous Cottage

"It was just lovely. The cottage was extremely clean and comfortable and the location was fabulous. The local pub The Dog Inn was lots of fun on a Thursday night as it was quiz night. We will definitely be back as have family local and it’s the perfect place to stay and spend time with them. "

"We booked this property in June to stay in September, we travelled over from the Isle of Man for a dance competition 2 adults 3 children. While on the train at 5pm we checked in online and didn’t received a key code for the door, so txt the number available to be told there was no stay booked as there had been a fire at the property at some point! The distress this caused having to find somewhere at such short notice with children was extremely overwhelming and stressful and to only be told sorry contact Expedia. Why didn’t anybody contact us? Imagine we had turned up at that house afew hours later, in the dark with nowhere to stay! Something has gone wrong with the communication between the property owner and Expedia but that’s not our fault…. will not use Expedia again after this! "
