This property is located on the tranquil Rock River in Oregon, Illinois and is perfect for a couple or family to get away. Enjoy fishing from the large deck or while out on the water with your boat. There is a boat ramp available only one mile away in town and at Castle Rock. One hundred feet of river frontage at the house for convenient docking and ease of use. The barbecue will come in handy when you want to keep an eye on your fishing pole while preparing a delicious meal. There are two bedrooms with two beds each. The master bedroom has two new queen beds. They are supremely comfortable so that you will sleep like a baby! The second bedroom has two twin beds and there's a hide-a-bed in the living room for larger get-togethers. The kitchen is fully stocked with a large table for your group to gather at. The living room has two full couches and entertainment center. Views of the river are also enjoyed from the sunroom and kitchen. Our friendly neighbors might give you a wave. Explore nature on any of the hiking trails of the surrounding three state parks. You'll find many activities to interest you such as horseback riding, dinner cruises, golf, and swimming at nearby lakes! Ask us where to find the bald eagle's nest! Bring your canoe, kayak, or other water sport toys. Stay at the Rock River Hideaway to relax and unwind! Don't forget your Binoculars, Bald eagles just across the river from House

Great weekend stay!

Great location right on the river
We really enjoyed our short weekend stay. The owner is really nice and easy to reach if need anything. If you’re a fan of fishing you can do so right from the house deck.

The place has its quirks, but it’s very clean and cozy and quite restful, with lots of spaces to relax indoors and out. Very convenient to town, with nice neighbors and lots of wildlife to enjoy.

Lovely cottage on the river!
This cottage on the Rock River was wonderful! The accommodations were comfortable and homey. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was roomy and the outdoor charcoal grill was perfect for grilling! The breakfast room with the river view was our favorite spot to hang out if we weren’t outside on one of the decks. The river views were so calming and relaxing. We will definitely go back!

Perfect get away
It was very peaceful and enjoyable to seat and watch the river during meals. The kids enjoyed trying to fish and Tanzie communicated very well with us and checked in via text to see if we needed anything. This is a property we'd return to.

Anniversary trip
The Rock River Hideaway was a great river house to stay in for our 35th anniversary. Clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we had bad weather and it was hard to enjoy the deck and river watch. Town is very close for supplies. Everything was great. Host was very responsive via text.

This home was perfect, beautiful, clean and so comfortable to stay at!
This was a perfect getaway house for my girlfriends and I for the weekend. The view outside is breathtaking. The inside of the home was clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and pillows. The owner was very kind and responded quickly to questions. The town was very charming. We will be visiting this home again!

Hit the spot for our couples getaway
We (2 person couple) really enjoyed this cabin. We fished from the deck and did have some luck. Beautiful scenic and quiet location. The near by towns had need shops and cafes. Check in was very easy and all questions were answered quickly. The 'bugs' come and go with the current (as is waterfront life). Beds were cozy and the cabin was clean. We are keeping this place on our list for the future!

Relaxing!
Arrived early and we were told to go ahead and go in. We had a great time and it was very relaxing. The 3 decks on the river were great. There’s a few boards on the bottom deck that could probably use some work but we weren’t disappointed in the stay. We forgot some food in the refrigerator and texted Tanzie about it and she was very nice about it. Would stay there again if we were in the area.

Peaceful and lovely
We were so happy spending a long weekend here. Everything was just right in the house, including sanitizing spray and hand sanitizer left out for us. The air conditioning kept it cool and the kitchen had all the cookware, dishes & utensils we needed to cook for ourselves all weekend. And the deck is an absolute treat. We spent hours out there watching the river go by. Highly recommended!

Just about Perfect!
The owner was an easy and great communicator, the kitchen was well equipped, the views were spectacular, we even fished off the deck. The only drawback, one bathroom, and almost no internet. On second thought - almost no internet may have been a Benefit! Thanks Tanzie! We will be back next year.

River house
Based on photos it appeared the river side of the house was sand / Beach and the kids could play in the river / Beach at the house. It is rock and not easy access to the river. We improvised and still had a good time and were able to canoe the river. Do your research of what to do before arriving as you don't get good internet reception at the house. We had to talk to many locals to find good places to go and attractions to visit. It may be good for the owner to have a good of thing to do at the house that guests can loom at. Overall we had a good stay with young children bit had to find things to do on the fly.

Girls Weekend
This was the perfect spot to have our girls weekend getaway. The deck and view were amazing. We had a great time and had everything we needed. Although there was no WIFI it was great to get everyone off the grid.
