"Beautiful cozy cottages, modern amenities, close driving distance to waterfalls. Isolated, low light pollution great for stargazing and northern lights. The loft cottages have upper loft floor with sky window, very cool. For a couple with or without small child is enough space. Communication with access instructions was easy. People have complained about inflexible cancellation policy, but these are family-run cottages, not a big hotel, so they depend on the income and last minute cancellations have impact on the local people"

"Adorable Inn, great location between Glacier Bay and Reykjavik near the Black Sand Beach. We stayed two nights. I rode the one hour ride to Irafoss while my husband hiked the gorgeous countryside. Very mountainous and multiple trail options. I wish I had chosen the longer ride as the ponies famous gait, the Tölt, is as smooth as silk and their horses were fabulous. Skálakot Manor is in a cute little valley with sheep, a couple houses and a church. Friendly place with lovely amenities. Great spa area with glass sliders that open up to view of the valley. I also got a great massage while there. Loved the food and at the end of the day they light a little fire upstairs in the sitting area. Heads up-don’t get the smallest room like we did. It is tiny w a minuscule bathroom. "

"Staying at The Garage in Iceland was absolutely amazing! The place was perfect—immaculately clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The host was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (the cookies were such a sweet touch!). The views were out of this world—breathtaking mountains, waterfalls, and stunning Icelandic landscapes right outside the window. It was the perfect base for exploring the area, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Iceland. It’s a true gem!"

"Arrived for my one night stay here, and my key was ready for me at the front desk. Breakfast was delicious (waffles, bacon, eggs, fruits, deli meats/cheese, cereal, etc.). My cat battery actually after I checked out, and the front desk staff lady gave me a jump. Loved my stay here and how homey it felt."

"This simple guesthouse was in a perfect location and was very clean and safe. We wanted extra pillows and they were brought to us. I appreciated having a couch to sit on, it's nice to have the extra seating area. Also appreciated the fridge in the hallway. "

"We loved our stay BUT the marketing photos and name of the hotel are very deceptive. You DO NOT get the horses coming to your cabin, there is a fence (electric) at least 20ft or more away from the cabins and the horses don’t come near you, you can see them afar from your cabin only. You can see Icelandic horses alllll over Iceland so this isn’t really a special experience. The cabins are wonderful and so is the overall location but you will be disappointed if you are going to want to do what the girl in the photos is doing as that is not going to happen! I highly suggest they remove the photos of the horses coming to the cabin so they don’t get more disappointed guests. "
