Some old hotels show signs of age but the owners of the Eisenhut have made sure that things are clean and new without spoiling the charm of a century’s old building . "We visited here on a 2 week winter trip to Germany. Front desk staff was friendly and enthusiastic. They greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was especially spectacular! This hotel was the unanimous favorite of our family. On top of that, Rothenburg ob der Tauber was super cool. We loved it here and wanted to come back and stay longer."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Glocke. Its a very unique building and tactfully decorated. The room was spacious. The breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is a huge bonus point. Just a 2 min stroll up the street and you are in the main square area. We repent for not staying for more than one night at the Glocke. "

"Good location on the edge of the old town, right near the wall. Safe and convenient. Rooms were decent, clean enough, pretty basic. Staff was not friendly nor helpful, unwilling to give us basic space for our family to gather outside our rooms (3 rooms for 4 nights, thought that might warrant using an empty table in an empty room of the restaurant, but not allowed even when restaurant empty). "This hotel is in a small, quiet village well off the beaten path, which is just what we wanted. But we arrived after dark and there was nobody at the reception desk. We tried to call the number, but our cell phones did not work properly. Outside the door, some people were smoking and somehow understood we could not check in. They were so friendly and helpful! They explained that there is a restaurant behind the hotel, and they would go find somebody. A young lady came and checked us in. Then we ran into Bruno, the proprietor. He showed us to our room and explained to us about using the blind to keep out the friendly local cat, while letting in the cooler air with the window. In a small village every place closes early, so we were concerned where we might get dinner. Bruno had the answer! He also owned the restaurant behind the hotel. He took us over there and cooked up some of the very best bratwurst, which was made by his son. This place has been in the family for five generations and they take great pride in it. The patrons of the restaurant were friendly as well. The room was modern and very clean. We wandered around the streets a bit by the church and a fountain. We could hear cows in the distance. Very pleasant experience!"
