A great stay
My mother and daughter wanted a quick little getaway for a few days and found this rental very accommodating. The property was clean, well stocked and met all our needs! I would come back again!

Clean, nice views, great amenities, sliding glass door out to deck needs work but salt water does that, this was a quiet area, very limited people on the beach! We really enjoyed our stay.

Great location with beautiful views
Nice cottage with beautiful views. Rain shower is great. We saw dolphins not far from the shore that were jumping out of the water and putting on a show for us!

Quick winter beach trip. The view of the ocean is beautiful! Location of the house is great. House is right on the beach. Only approximately 30 min to Holden Beach and other area beaches.

The house of amazing views!
We had the most incredible stay at this beachfront house! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views of the ocean. The house is perfectly situated, allowing us to enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets right from the comfort of the living room. The interior of the house is just as impressive as the views outside. The living spaces are tastefully decorated and incredibly comfortable, making us feel right at home. The bedrooms were spacious and cozy, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing outside. One of the highlights of our stay was spending time on the deck overlooking the ocean. Whether we were enjoying a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening, the deck quickly became our favorite spot in the house.

Beautiful views, excellent property management.
Linens were lare but not the managements fault! I also wish I would have known there was construction right next door. The noise was from 7:30a-6:30p every day but the day we left. However I cannot say enough about the management office. They personally delivered our linenes when the linen service failed and also pet us back in right before departure to grab my 8 year olds bunny, on a Sunday.

Amazing location
Although we were a little surprised we were expected to bring our own toilet paper, bath soap, trash bags, and kitchen towels, we were well-informed that they were needed, and were prepared. The duplex itself was clean and well maintained. The other side was not occupied, so it was quiet. A house is being built on the adjacent property, though, and construction noise, although not excessively loud, was present throughout the day. The beautiful view from the porch was just as shown in the pictures, and access to the beach was quite easy. We enjoyed many spontaneous walks on the beach, which was not crowded.

Beach weekend getaway
This property is on a beautiful stretch of beach, close to the pier. There is a great steak/seafood restaurant within walking distance that I recommend. The home is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom duplex with a view of the ocean. You can hear your neighbors, similar to living in an apartment or condo.

Weekend Trip with Kids - Mostly good
My wife and I and Kids under 9 spent the weekend here. We were able to check in at 3 which was fantastic. The house itself was clean. View was great and convenience of beach access was a huge plus. House has a great Kureg machine (bring filters). We could hear the people at times in the duplex on the other side of the wall. Sliding glass window was dirty on outside and did not function easily. No plastic cups or bowls for kids in kitchen. How water ran out fairly quickly. Not sure if this unit has its own tank or shares with duplex unit. Overall convenient to neighboring restaurant and fishing pier. Would consider staying here again.

Disappointing Stay
As usual photos sell a property. However, in our case the reality didn’t match our expectations which were largely based on on-line photos. The beach proximity is great. The beach itself is perfect. We were shocked to find the place was a two units with other guests too close. The front door was so rusted and loose that we didn’t think we would even get inside. The entire property seemed old and really in need of an update, in our opinion. We love Oak Island but next time we will rent a newer place that is pet friendly further away from the ocean and rent a golf cart to get to the beach. I must say the owner communicated perfectly and gave us great places to eat on and off the island. The cons out-number the pros so we would not stay there again

Location was excellent. House was neat and clean but needs a little work. Cupboards were coming apart. No curtain or shade on kitchen window. Sliding glass door to the deck would barely open and was very hard to close. Called about it but nobody came to look at it. Hot water ran out on 2nd person showering. Interconnecting door to other unit would barely lock enough to keep it closed. Overall a decent visit overlooking the above things.

Location just can't be beat!
The location of this house was perfect, and the calm views and sounds from the covered porch just can't be beat! The weather was a little wet and cool, but the covered deck, overlooking the beach allowed us to enjoy the settling in comfort. There was a slight snafu with the linens being delivered to the wrong "side" of the house, but it was quickly cleared up by the property management company, even at 8 pm the night before Thanksgiving. The owner was also quick with replies, and all communication was great! The house itself is very comfortable. There were plenty of pillows and blankets, and the mattresses were quite comfy. Our only "complaint" is that the bathroom showers could use a power cleaning, as there is grunge around the bottoms of both doors. All in all it was a fantastic place to stay, and we would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone.

Great location, needs a deep clean.
The location's flat out excellent. It's a great little place right on the beach, and has the essentials for a nice stay. Location couldn't be better, and the amenities met our needs well (kitchen stock, AC, wifi, etc). However, it's just not cleaned well at all. The bathroom showers are pretty dirty, and the doors/windows are very dirty. We have twin 18 month olds, and had to keep them away from a ton of surfaces due to grime. One of the bedrooms also doesn't have blinds - just a thin blanket thrown up over the window, so you're getting sun right in that window first thing. With a serious deep-clean (or even just a thoughtful clean), it'd have been a much better stay. As it is, we didn't get much rest or enjoyment out of the stay.

While the location was great the unit was lacking. The owner is not getting his money's worth from the managing/cleaning company. When we arrived the floors/rugs were disgusting. Food pieces, dead bugs, sand that said the floors had not been touched. Could not even use the sliding door, would not open more that 6 inches. Problems with the stove, if 2 burners were used with the oven the breaker would pop. Called to report but it was not fixed. Kitchen cabinet doors were lose, which my son tightened. Armies of ants plagued us in the kitchen and bedrooms. Would not rent again.

Great location!
This property is a great location on the beach and in walking distance to a wonderful restaurant and bar. The sliding door to the porch is absolutely ridiculously hard to open and close due to the rust. The door lock needs to be replaced on the front door due to being rusted and hard to open. Definitely need to bring toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags (there was only one in the trash can) and kitchen towels. There are pans for cooking but could use better ones. The making of the beds was not a big deal with the linens but upon leaving comforters were left on the beds because that was the instructions. I sure hope they were clean in between guests! The cleanliness of the place was fairly good. I would suggest the cleaners use a mop over the baseboards and move furniture when cleaning due when we moved the couch there was a hat someone had left and sand that had been tracked inside. The back bathroom is small, efficient but could use a shelf or 2 to place things to stay organized. Also a mirror in the back bedroom would be helpful as we had 2 adults trying to get ready at the same time. Overall, a great place to stay!

Disappointing beach getaway
This is a bare bones VRBO. The fact that we had to bring everything on our own to include toilet paper was ridiculous. We have rented vacation stays with other vacation rental companies at least 15-20 times and have never encountered a rental that made us make the beds ourselves, bring paper goods, bring soap/shampoo, and made us check in with a property management company offsite to get keys! It’s 2022 people! How does this place not have a digital keypad entry?? The view out the back sliding door to the beach was pretty but the door was in disrepair and was near impossible to open and close. Screen door to the main entrance was falling off. There were ants in the kitchen and when we tried to sit out on the porch at night there were cockroaches all over the porch. We booked 2 nights but decided to leave after the first night because we were so uncomfortable. About the only positive about this rental is that it is directly on the beach and cheap. You really get what you pay for. VERY disappointed with our first VRBO experience and will think twice about using the service again in the future.

Beautiful view & great location
The view from the back deck makes this a property I would want to come back to. The deck isn't huge, but it's deep and has 4 rocking chairs from which you can see the ocean and hear the waves. The location is another perk. We ate at Island Way, which is basically next door and the food was amazing - being able to walk to excellent dining is fun and you couldn't be closer to the beach. The place isn't fully renovated, but the owners have renovated the important parts - bathrooms are very clean and feel new and the kitchen appliances are new. The kitchen cabinets definitely are not. When we got there, the place was clean enough to not make a complaint, but it wasn't spotless. We found cereal on the floor by the couch and someone had left crumbs on one of the beds. We didn't discover these things right away, so decided to just clean them ourselves. The attic door was left in a weird position, so it made noise when the breeze came through the house. Again, we could have complained, but chose not to, so I can't speak to how that would have been addressed. We did call the management company because the kitchen didn't have a corkscrew (priorities!). They eventually brought one, but didn't call us to tell us they were doing so, so we had already bought one (so, if you go there, there will be 2). All in all, I would book this place again because of the location and view.

Nice, but not quite the relaxing few days I expected
Place itself was decent, can use some upgrades. The patio sliding door takes a lot of effort to close. Rocking chairs were a nice touch on the covered deck. My trip was to get away for a few days to wind down. I just wanted peace and quiet to watch and listen to the ocean from the covered deck. This is a duplex and the walls are thin. There is a door between the two units with a big gap underneath, so you can hear every conversation, laughter, etc. next door. The deck is nice, although the outside faucet was on my side of the duplex so had people rinsing their feet and beach things off on my peaceful deck There is a restaurant (that was very good) a few doors down. Not sure if it was them or someone else in that complex with amplified live music so I could not hear the ocean waves over the music my first evening there. Neighbors are close, and although they are nice, they still had barking dogs. I could clearly hear the ocean waves most of the time but I could not see them from the deck due to the dune. Beach was just a short walk out, though, and I very much enjoyed walking on the beach especially viewing the sunrise down one side of the beach, and sunset down the other. After I made the reservation I received info saying I needed to pick up keys at a separate location (difficult if you don't have a car) and that I was to bring my own things like toilet paper and soap. I have never had a rental require me to bring those items. Sheets were in a laundry bag and I was required to put the sheets on the beds as well as strip the beds after. Had to put the trash cans out to the curb for trash pickup. This was not exactely the relaxing few days I had planned. I spent a few days before at a hotel where necessities were supplied and a covered deck facing the ocean on a different island and found that more relaxing. Perhaps personal taste. If you are going with a bigger group, I can see the convenience of extra rooms/beds, kitchen and being on the beach being great. If you are going for peace and quiet and relaxation, maybe not

Nice Enough in a great location
Overall the house was in good working order but the dusty and musty air made us all feel congested. There is visible interior damage to the walls in the living area. The linens provided by the property manager were very thin; I would have brought my own had I known it was a rental linen package. It wasn't clear when the quilts were last cleaned but the property manager did tell us they had been cleaned recently. Beach access was great.

Lovely View, be aware it’s a duplex
The property is in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, we did not realize it was a duplex and upon arrival we had to listen to a young child pound away as she ran through the attached unit. The following night, it was peaceful however, at 1:45 am the next round of guests checked in and woke us as they arrived and banged around until after 2 am. They also decided to wander over to our side of the deck which we found to be intrusive. If it weren’t for the noisy neighbors, I would have given this property 5 stars all the way. Unfortunately, the thin walls and noisy guests put a damper on our experience.
