"Absolutely loved my stay! Renata at the front desk was so helpful and told me all the best local spots to see the best of Nordeste! The restaurant was amazing! All the staff there were so informative and happy! It had a Great buffet breakfast! Lunch and dinner was great! Very modern but nature inspired so I had a great visit! Pool was amazing! Sauna and Turkish bath also! Great views from the room! "

"Our stay at the hotel was fantastic. The staff was amazing, and the food, more so. During our six night stay, we had diner at the hotel four times, and they were our best meals by far. There is ocean views from almost every room and the hotel is very quiet. Parking is easy and the location is close to many restaurants, museums and a grocery store if you need anything. The pools and the spa are well designed and they are the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the island. The ocean is a two minute walk from the hotel and there is a nice beach with great waves for surfing. The only things negative worth nothing are the design of the washrooms in the rooms where the walls are made of glass panels - some translucid and others tainted. This is not great for intimacy in the shower or on the toilet! Only a mechanized curtain outside the washroom prevents you from looking in. The second thing is the air gaps on the door that leads to the terrace. It was super windy while we were there so there was often a whistling sound of air passing through the door. Appart from these minor details, this place is well worth staying at."

"Stayed for three nights. Comfortable room with lots of amenities. The Terra Nostra garden is amazing and could spend the entire time there if you wanted to. The restaurant is very good and above my expectations. Didn’t get a chance to try the sushi restaurant but maybe next time.. Staff is exceptional as well, freindly and professional. "

"This is a wonderful place to stay! We arrived a little early but they were able to accommodate us. They gave us a tour and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. Duarte helped us book a whale watch and warned us we needed to book the thermal spring baths ahead of time. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked being able to open the windows. We could hear the ocean surf when we didn't hear the neighborhood dogs barking. We were pleasantly surprised to have shared access to a balcony with chairs and a table. Watching the sunset with a bottle of wine we purchased from the hotel was a great way to end the day. They had a decent selection of wines to choose from. The heated outdoor pool was enjoyable and the grounds were well kept. It was super nice to have kitchen access with an assigned shelf in the fridge and a cabinet with plates and glasses to use. It was clean, modern and equipped with whatever utensils you needed to cook or reheat a meal. There were 2 grocery stores within walking distance. It was a short walk to town and the beach. Parking was off street and easy. The location was central for exploring Sao Miguel. We stayed a week and were very satisfied. We highly recommend the Volcanic Charming House! "
