The Lakeside Lookout is nestled among the serene shores of Fish Bay lake Nipissing. Plan a day out on the waters with complimentary canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and SUP's. Fishing boat rentals are available with lake maps included. The Lakeside Lookout is on over 20 acres of shared resort with 4 other resort cottages. All cottages are very private. Enjoy the inground heated pool with deck side whirlpool. New pool side Pavilion with ping pong table and soccer table. Comfy furniture, loungers, seating and tables with shade umbrellas.
Pool area has a park with volleyball, corn hole and kiddie play area.
Down at the main docks and small beach area are the fishing boats and all the guests paddle toys. There are plenty of docks if you like to bring your own boat. Awesome fishing off the docks as well. by the boathouse is the fish cleaning hut with running water. Electricity for plug ins at dock and well lit at night.
The resort is for our guests only. We stay on location at the main log lodge, where there is the office and small store. I am always available for assistance.
The lakefront cottage has full kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Fully furnished decks and campfire area. Propane and charcoal barbeque plus your own waterfront campfire area.
The cottage is accessible friendly with level walk out decks, ramp to the cottage. Double door entry and 6 foot sliding doors. Wide bathroom doors with walk in 4 foot wide shower with bench. Support handles in the bathroom. All same level through out the cottage.
Large wall to wall windows , views from all angles. Large sliding doors and garden doors offering natural light and beautiful water views.
The 3 bedroom cottage has 1 queen and 2 double beds plus 2 twin beds. Two 3 piece bathrooms, full kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee maker.
Kitchen stocked with dishware, utensils, pots, pans, cook ware and serve ware.
Unlimited internet, and satelite smart tv.
Clean and comfortable with plenty of outdoor seating areas. Very tasteful decor, clean and charming. There are many amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable and convenient.
Close by there are grocery stores, restaurants, maple syrup shops, honey farms, hiking, horseback riding, hiking trails, golf , beaches, country markets and farm to table reservation only restaurants. Pontoon boat rentals at the local marina within 2 minutes.
The city of North Bay is 30 minutes away, with airport and rental cars. Good size northern city with all amenities. Lots of guests will day visit Science North in Sudbury and provincial parks in Mattawa. The Cranberry trail and the Duchesnay Falls Trails is very popular. The view from the look out there is amazing!
Fishing is awesome at Tom Rae Lodge. We have fishing boat rentals that come with lake/fishing maps. I supply all the fishing hot spot knowledge. As I have for over 35 years. A large variety of species to catch among all the bays and islands of the South Bays of Lake Nipissing. A very peaceful area with plenty of quiet coves to cast and troll. Many inlets and bays, plus rivers and waterfalls that flow into the lake. All the ingredients for great habitat .Plus we are on Fish Bay Lake Nipissing !
Rental boats have 15 to 20 hp. motors. Boats are 14 to 16 foot in length. They have full floor boards, swivel seats, electric start motors, bilge pumps and some with live wells. All can be reserved ahead or booked on site. We have a lot of fishing boats. Standard life vests on site but we suggest guests bring there own proper fitting life vests.
At the main office there are travel maps for a good day paddle out among the islands and bays. Come by and pick one up before you head out. There is bait, ice and firewood in the small store plus other items our guests require. Local fishing tackle as well.
There is a cruise boat from North Bay to the French river that is very popular for a day cruise. Named the Chief Commanda 2 and the retired Chief Commanda 1 is now a dockside restaurant at the North Bay Waterfront.
There are many more attractions in the Near North area. Guide books are provided in the cottages. The City of North Bay also has a tourism site to visit for up coming events. I have been to the waterfront rib fest and the Restoule rib fest. Very good events. tasty too!
