9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (90)
"Thank you Nikko Hoshinoyado- we had a wonderful Japanese experience in Nikko and at the hotel. We are sorry we don’t speak Japanese, and that made little things challenging a bit. We wish we knew that for a best experience we should have booked dinner at the hotel because we did not find a single suitable place to eat within walking distance of the hotel (October 18, 2024). So we did not have dinner that night. Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic. We also loved the Onsen experience....

"Hotel is very close to all the world heritage sites right across from the parking lots. Walking distance to sites and train station The half board option is very nice. Dinner served in the room There is onsen on premise The hotel is somewhat older but that maybe part of its charm. We chose to stay in Japanese style room with tatami floor. Narusawa Lodge

2.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (73)
"The place was okay, but a bit rundown. We went as a family, and I would not recommend doing so as there is only one shared shower for the entire place, which makes the stay a bit inconvenient. We had two rooms -- one was renovated and looked okay, while the other was more rundown and not so nice. The toilets upstairs were also a bit old, but the one downstairs was renovated and much nicer. So it's a bit hit and miss. As this is bit rural, there are quite a bit of bugs around as well. The area...
