This was the best place I stayed at in Japan. Host is very helpful, friendly, considerate and speaks very good English. I felt like it was my home after the first 24 hours. If you are a cat lover this is the place for you, but if you are not, that is fine too as the cats can be kept away from the accommodation. My daughter has an allergy to cats but this posed no problem at all. The place is decorated beautifully and is as clean and modern as any place you will ever find. The Japanese are very clean-living people but this place was at the next level. Immaculate!! We were helped with our daily activities and having someone speak Japanese making inquiries on our behalf with local business makes life so easy if you do not speak Japanese. The other great thing about this place it was so easy to mingle with other travellers as the atmosphere just lends itself to that sort of socialising. You are also well away from the tourist areas. we did one day of skiing as the Shinkansen (bullet train) is easy to get to and cuts travelling time down to nothing. It was just the best place in every single way!

The hostel is very comfy, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. The cats are super cute! And the bed was really comfortable - enough that I wish I had a bed and, sheets and comforter like that. It is a little distant from the Niigata city center, but still very easily accessible. ...also, if the weather is clear, there are beautiful views out the window

This Guesthouse is surrounded by natural environment and traditional Japanese village. You can breathe fragant smell from trees & flowers, enjoy birds' song, taste the ocean wind along the beach.
By t way, House owner can play piano and the house was decorated in an artistic with cat style as they're also cat lovers.
