"I love boutique hotels and Leyenda is no exception. The grounds are quite beautiful. They greeted us with a welcome drink! We stayed for 3 nights total, family of 5. We had the superior 2 bedroom and the room was good but we did add an extra room after our first night for more space and another bathroom (my fault for thinking the 3 beds/1 bath would be sufficient with two teens). We enjoyed the big pool! Wished it was a bit cooler to be a refresh from the heat, or that a part of the pool had some shade (never thought I’d say that!) We ate 3 dinners here and each dinner was AMAZING! I can not recommend their dinners enough. Warning: the portions are HUGE and very shareable. Unfortunately, the complimentary breakfast buffet was not as good as their dinner. However, the made to order cappuccinos were lovely. We took the shuttle to the beach one day and I highly recommend Playa Carillo as it was the best beach we visited in Costa Rica. Just stunning! The next day we drove our rental car to the beach and back. Overall, I would return here again. For the price, the location and amenities are a great deal. PS. The Asiatic restaurant is not open, which we were looking forward to. Luckily that main restaurant had a large variety and incredible food."

"I just returned from my second visit to Sendero, and it truly feels like home. The design of the hotel is stunning, and the staff is absolutely exceptional. They take the time to get to know you, remember you, and make you feel like part of the family. The restaurant is a standout, offering the most delicious menu I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The pool is a serene retreat, the perfect spot to unwind with a good book after a day of surfing. The yoga and surf instructors, especially Lauren and Rodrigo, have made each of my visits unforgettable. I can't recommend Sendero enough – it's an experience that I will continue to cherish and share with others."

"This resort was beautiful. A good bit off the beaten path but what a jewel when you get there! The rooms were quite spacious and lovely. There was a welcome gift when we arrived of fresh fruits. No matter where you are on the property, you can hear the waves crashing and it is glorious! The resort felt very exclusive and was populated but not crowded at all. Each time I went to the pool or any of the many options for laying out I felt like I had my preference. They had so many options of shaded or sunny spots to relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings. There were several iguanas on the property that loved sunning themselves by the pools as well. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning that was included in our stay but our favorite was lunch. The guacamole was fabulous and paired with the chicken quesadillas it was perfect! This resort was excellent for relaxing. We also took advantage of the spa. The couple's massage with the sound of the ocean was fantastic! Easily one of our favorites of all time and we love a good spa day!! As I stated in the beginning, Azul hotel and retreat is off the beaten path and you will need to rent a car. I'd suggest flying into Liberia Airport but it will still be a long drive to ANY of the resorts, but a lot longer if you fly into San Juan like we did. I loved the Azul Hotel and Retreat and I'm very glad we found such a great place to stay with wonderful employees that took great care of us!"

"The resort is gorgeous. The rooms are clean , beds are very comfortable. Definitely Great to have the pool right outside the door. Odd set up for the 2 bdr villas.. when you enter through the gate you have a common outside small table and 4 chairs and on each side of that is a sliding door..to the right ...a kitchen with 2 single beds and TV, no bathroom. So whoever is in that room has to come through the queen bedroom with people sleeping to use bathroom . On the left queen bedroom and bathroom, no tv. So when those people go to bed no tv to watch. Also, the shower is outside which was cool, but the door to the bathroom is locked and if you wanted to leave it open ..there was just enough gap for lizards and bugs to come in . And no hooks to hang your towel and clothes. The units definitely need more hooks to hang towels up or a retractable clothes line. We had all our stuff drapped all over the chairs in the common outdoor space. Which was hard to sit at as they were all covered in wet stuff. Also needs more hanging hooks for clothes in other room with the kitchen ....and more cutlery options like a good cutting knife , bottle opener, wine opener ..etc. Basic utensils only, no dish soap to wash dishes"

"My family and I stayed at Olas Verdes Hotel in Nosara and we enjoyed every minute. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our suite was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We all loved the short walk to the beach, the wonderful and tasty breakfast we were served every morning and the daily laundry service. Also loved the many howler sightings at and near the property. "
