This is a scam operation. The booking page did not mention that guests would need to send their personal ID and credit card information to the host online before check-in. When we questioned the necessity and safety of this request and offered to provide the information in person, the host refused. As a result, the host withheld check-in details, even though we had paid in full, and they refused to refund us. We were forced to book another hotel.
When we contacted customer service, they advised us not to send our credit card information to the host, but they were powerless to do anything about the host’s actions. This is a complete scam, and we have reported the incident to the local police.
