"Unhygienic and dirty. The bathroom had wet yellow urine spilled on toilet and the previous occupants toiletries were still there. The bed had so many stains and when we removed the blanket there was mud and dirt inside. They did not clean the sheets after the previous occupants. The room had small bugs crawling and we can’t step foot outside in the patio either. We spent the night in disgust as there were no place to go at that time of the hour. "The breakfast was good. Staff are friendly. They only had one elevator working so that was a bit inconvenient. The location of the hotel is good. It was a few minutes walk to Galleria Mall. It was a bit far from Malioboro. Here are plenty of nearby eateries "

The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta - Handwritten Collection

"We love the hotel and enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet. We ate dinner there and the food was good. Bizarrely, wine was unbelievably expensive with the cheapest bottle being over $200. When we said that the restaurant and the front desk they said that a lot of people say that. Roaster and bear around the corner is a very good restaurant with $30 bottles of wine. "

"We liked the Colonial architecture, and the size of our rooms was very spacious. Great views of the rice fields, its lush greenery landscapes. The meals were delicious, especially the breakfast buffet. Nice variety for us. Also the staff were very welcoming and it had a cozy atmosphere throughout the hotel. "

"They made a few mistakes in the beginning with my room but they made up for them with extra excelent service, shout out to Mr Yanto and mba Belinda at Kayu Manis restaurant and all the staff at the restaurant for treating me and my Mom with smile, kindness and professionalism. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family. Keep the good work 🙏"
