"First time staying in New Plymouth as a couple and were apprehensive about staying in a place that wasn’t a motel. Couldn’t have been more impressed. Excellent communication, friendliness and key handover. Comfortable bed, outdoor bath and even a hammock! Felt like our own private nest with everything we needed. "This charming cottage had just about everything you would want for a perfect stay, EXCEPT there was no microwave! We didn't discover that until we wanted to use it to make breakfast! Bit of a shock ... Also there is no light switch for the toilet by the main bathroom. A few things would improve convenience: there is nowhere to put your toiletbag in the ensuite. A stool or small table between the shower and the basin would help, and it needs somewhere to put one's soap and facecloth on in the...

"Everything would have been perfect … because it’s such a beautiful house, but it’s like a sauna in the Summer without air-conditioner. Only one ceiling fan in the four bedrooms. Lights were annoying to switch on and off."

"Note that the street address is a number AND a letter (we weren't told the letter part). Also note, there is a golf course between the property and the beach so it takes about 25 minutes to walk there - a pretty walk. We found a lake nearby with lovely picnicking spots."

"The interior of the tiny house is lovely, however the pictures on the listing cleverly avoid showing the surrounding area. There are no trees or fences to provide privacy from the main house, the contiguous cabin or the hiking track that runs through the property. The .main house is barely 10mts away, we could here music coming from it at night. The other cabin is a mere 2mts away and the walking track barely 3mts from the cabin. "A relaxing retreat in a quiet location. Vintage style granny vibe decor, this quaint cottage had plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked. TV not smart but OK. The garden was nice with lots of fruit trees. Washing machine in bathroom was good but no extractor fan in bathroom and no insect screens to keep bugs out if windows left open.Beds were varied. Twin beds very comfy and queen bed too soft and very high off ground. Nice to have bed in conservatory, made a fabulous day bed for relaxing...
