"Travelled to Cambrai for the first time and solo. Really delighted with the hotel - incredible value for money. Comfortable, clean, close to the rail station and close to the main square where all the shops, cafes and restaurants are. Staff were welcoming and helpful although it does help if you can speak a bit of French as only one person speaks fluent English. "We arrived to discover the hotel was locked. We phoned using the number provided by hotels.com and a receptionist answered to say she would be with us in 10 minutes. Sure enough, she turned up but only to explain that the hotel was closed - if we really wanted to, we could have a room for the night but no dinner or breakfast could be provided.
