"Toyoko Inn in Shin-Yamaguchi is handily situated 5 minutes walk from the shinkansen lines. It is a good, basic, business hotel. There were free breakfasts."

"This is a good hotel chain. The staff are friendly, and everything works. The rooms are not large, but adequate. At this location there is a nice family hot spring spa right next store, for which the hotel sells discount tickets. I recommend it."

"I'd never stayed in a ryokan before, but have always heard what it was like. I can confidently say, after being in this one, that ryokans are an exceptional place to relax. The traditional rooms are spacious, has a great views, and sleeping in a futon on tatami is a classic for a reason! The amenities are very nice too, with two whole building's worth of stuff! A public bath, karaoke, arcade, bowling, an izakaya, etc. Probably the only thing I would like is wifi in the room (it's only otherwise found in the lobby). But other than that, a wonderful experience I am glad to have had!"

After staying at many more rustic inns and sleeping on the floor several nights, it was a welcome change to be in such a modern, comfortable hotel. Although the staff did not speak much English, they were extremely helpful and overcame any communication difficulties with translation apps."
