The 5 stars is based on the Expedia value and I arrived after dark. With current exchange I paid $46usd for a standard double room. The property has blemishes but it was a tremendous value (even before exchange). My experience was one night and I didn't soak in the public bath. But the residents appeared to enjoy it. I would definitely look at this property again if I'm in Nagahama.

The hotel is for groups. Also, the staff is so unapproachable that you would think, "This is Japan, isn't it? I think this is a hotel where you cannot experience Japanese hospitality. I would not recommend this hotel for leisure travel.

First I want to say so the staff were great and friendly. However the property is such in the 80's and not in a good retro way. From washroom, bedding and carpets, everything looks original to when this place was built. The only areas that looks upgraded is the lobby area, which is what u see in the pictures. But much to do in surrounding area and a kid of restaurants closed by 8pm. For an advertised "resort", they need to do a lot better. Keep driving to next town and stay somewhere else.

今、流行りのオールインクルーシブを体験するつもりで宿泊しました。ビールなど各種アルコールが飲み放題なので、お酒好きな人には抜群なのでは。スタッフも丁寧でしたし、料理もそこそこのクオリティ。琵琶湖のそばなので眺望もよかったです。ただ、部屋の設備が少々古い感じがしたので１ポイント減点。
