"Enjoyed our stay at Thornton. You need a car to get out and about as nothing is in walking distance but it is an easy drive to lots of places in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Hosts were friendly and checked in with us that all was going OK. Steep steps between upstairs and downstairs so not appropriate for the mobility impaired, elderly or very young children. "

Probably the only minor negative was that there is a tenant in the bottom story which we were not aware of until after we booked, so we had to remind the kids to be quiet, which kind of took away from being able to relax a little. Other than that, everything was fine"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay and would recommend it to others. It was a bonus to be so close to both beach and harbour without getting into a car. The kitchen and laundry was very well equipped and the ultra fresh, crisp linen and towels were much appreciated. The bathroom was modern and very clean with a lovely shower. "We were there for a nearby family wedding and it was a relaxing wee place that had everything we needed for a great family stay. Except for a broken loo (understandable maintenance issue that wasn't too much fuss!). Other slight gripe was that the manager thought the "insurance" fee refunded itself, but it didn't... Just as well I checked that it'd been paid. I think she is now aware of this issue, and seemed an honest mistake. So you should be fine but do check on exit!"
