"We were a family of 9 adults and every single person in our group talked about how impressed we all were with this hotel. The location, the food, the cleanliness, the amenities, the atmosphere, the decor - almost everything was 5 star. The only thing I would change is the mattress - it was uncomfortable and every time my husband or I moved the whole mattress would wobble. The waitstaff working at the function we attended definitely need more training about how to talk to each other in front of the guests. But that's negligible. I would stay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa again and again. It is excellent."

"As close to the boardwalk and wharf as you can get while still having breathtaking views of the ocean and cliffs. Rooms were spacious with everything we needed, and had easy access to the beach, even for people with disabilities."

The breakfast is literally the best we have ever had anywhere in the world and that is not an exaggeration! Walking distance to town, but if you don’t feel like walking, there is free cab service included with the hotel love love love LaPlaya will definitely return if we can. "
