"Comfortable room in easy walking distance from Buxton town centre and Buxton country park. A few pubs within minutes. Simple to check-in, although we were expecting to check in at 12 and were sent away for an hour (not a problem for us!) Easy enough to find roadside parking. Tea & coffee facilities and shower gel/shampoo a welcome touch. Mysteriously awoken by a fire alarm on our final morning which was quickly shut off… but otherwise very quiet making for a peaceful stay. "

"The Old Lock Up was clean,warm, and welcoming. I stayed for 3 nights in the Solicitor's room, which I found pleasant and characterful, with a comfortable bed and a good sized ensuite. It was very quiet with really thick walls. The breakfast was great and beautifully cooked. The property is well situated a short walk from the centre of Wirksworth. I managed it easily even with a sprained ankle. I had a very pleasant stay."

"Lovely, cosy pub hotel. Great food with a choice of menus, ranging from the tasting menu to simple (but very well done) pub fayre. We chose from the pub menu, special mention to the fish and chips, perfect! Accompanied by a good choice of drinks, with beer from the local Thornbridge brewery. Very handy spot for local attractions. We stayed for one night on a mini-break and the room was perfect. Lovely bedroom decoration, nicely fitted out bathroom with a decent sized bath and rainfall...

"This large and very well presented B&B property is ideally situated to visit nearby Hardwick Hall and is just off the motorway. In a safe, rural location, it is purpose built and has plenty of safe easy parking. Our room was spacious well appointed, albeit somewhat functional and lacking decorative touches. The walls are very thin, so our loud neighbour kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate."

"This was our second visit. This is a really well-designed and characterful small cottage with a large (and warm!) private pool a short distance across the garden. There are fabulous views of the lower part of the White Peak area from the cottage, and walks from the door or from Ilam - a couple of miles away. The hosts offer a warm welcome. Another great stay. "Lock on the bathroom didn’t work, wifi not great. We stayed in number 19 flat 3. Don’t feel it should be advertised as luxury/deluxe, location really good so would recommend for that. And good value for money, perfect for 1-2 nights 👍 Wife says could’ve done with another mirror for getting ready. "
