Located in a very pleasant natural setting just outside the city, this gîte offers a very pleasant stay just a stone's throw from Montargis, a picturesque town in the Centre-Val-de-Loire region, located an hour south of Paris. Nestled between the Briare canal and the Loing, near Lac des Closiers, it offers a haven of peace combining direct immersion in nature and walking distance to the town, via its new marina. Montargis, a small “Venice of the Gâtinais”, constitutes an exotic destination listed among the hundred “Most Beautiful Detours” in France” due in particular to its vast and unique network of canals and rivers, linked by one hundred and thirty-two bridges and footbridges. Its charming streets, its picturesque islets, its flowery locks, its half-timbered houses as well as its historic buildings invite you to stroll and explore. Montargis thus offers an interesting variety of cultural and outdoor activities: visit to the Franco-Chinese Friendship Museum, walk in the Pêcherie district, Ponts circuit, paintings from the Girodet museum, tasting of artisanal sweets at the “ Maison de la Prasline Mazet”, nautical rowing or sailing activities. For hikers or “Petite-Reine” enthusiasts, amateurs or experienced, the region also abounds in hiking trails and green two-wheel routes including the famous European Scandibérique cycle route, connected to the Val-de-Loire. Some sites of tourist interest are worth an engaging detour: the small character town of Ferrières-en-Gâtinais, the Paucourt forest, the national arboretum of Nogent-sur-Vernisson, the Museum of the Resistance and the Deportation of Lorris . This single-storey gîte (near the owner) includes: - a living room with lounge area and open kitchen; - a bedroom (accessible by two small steps), equipped with a 160x200 cm double bed that can be separated into two 80x200 cm single beds if necessary; - a bathroom including toilets. The common courtyard allows closed parking for one or two vehicles as well as the use of two private terraces with garden furniture. If necessary, a free public parking area is also accessible 50 m away (only for low vehicles). The cottage does not have a charging device for electric vehicles.
